SPORTS Softball was also successful. Both the H8 ' s and H9 ' s beat Willard and Burbank. If anyone wanted to see some good fun they should have watched the H8 ' s beat the faculty. The teachers didn ' t have much control over the lads — What Fun! Neal Tveitmoe was high point man in basket- ball this term with a total of seventy-three points. Ellis, Johnson, and Ohsimi were close in that order. We won and lost one to Crockett, beat Vallejo twice, we beat Willard twice, and won one and lost one to Burbank. The San Pablo Boys ' Club were too hard to beat as well as assorted groups of alumni. GIRLS ' SPORTS— SPRING ' 41 The H9 Girls ' baseball teams played the L9 girls and won! Therefore, they played against Willard and Burbank. They successfully de- feated Willard, 26 to 10, but when they played Burbank they were beaten. But don ' t blame the girls too much. These girls have held the inter-school competition in their grade for a long time, and hats off to Miss Stout for the helpful instruction she has given us. Soon after the girls were beaten by Burbank, they began organizing advisory groups for the relay races, and all competition groups for the dashes, broad-jumps, and basketball and base- ball throwing. Volley ball is to be started after the track meet. More power to you this time, girls! -I f% P f ( 1. Girls ' Block G Club 2. High 9 Basketball 3. High 9 Baseball 4. Low 9 Basketball ■i .-ilsaifc 5. BOYS ' SPORTS Follov ing the example set by the four preced- ing years we won every league we entered ex- cept track in which we lost a meet to both Albany High and the Berkeley C ' s . In field day, Eddy Tom broke the No. 105-50 yd. dash with a 6.2 time over the old record of 6.6. In tennis we won our only match with Mac- Donald, Stanislawski and Cox being the flashes. Cox, by the way, made a good anchor in the high nine relay. Our hard ball team won three out of the first four games and won the league in about the same proportion. Ellis pitched a no-hit game and got the only hit against Tamalpais — a home run. 1. Boys ' Block G Club 2. Varsity Basketball 3. Varsity Softball 4. 85-lb. Basketball 5. Varsity Hardball 6. 105-lb.
