Within the buildings of Garfield High School, students of many nationalities are working and playing together side by side. Here we have the United Nations organization in miniature. Black, white, and yellow races, all under one roof, are striving for one goal; that of com- panionship, understanding and brotherhood, trying to erase any feeling of partiality or intolerance. The theme of our 1951 Crimson and Blue symbolizes this theory of equality among men. In later years we shall look back at this book full of treasured memories, hoping that during these years we have lived this theory of equality day by day.

We must remember, too, that the United Nations will be only as stiong as we, the peace lovmg people here, in Kuropti, Asia, South America, and r.l.scwhere, make it.
