CLASS C TRACK HE Midgets placed Hfth in the Northern League linal with 19M points. They opened the dual meet season against Belmont nad were defeated 40-37. The Babes came back however, in the next meet and by garnering seven brsts, seven second and six thirds, whitewashed Marshall 6214-1-HQ. They then met and defeated Franklin 55-22. The Midgets continued their winning streak by nosing out the Lincoln Cees .382- BSIQ, and by scoring 40LQ points were able to beat Roosevelt 40M-5622. Albright made a new school record by winning the 660 in fast time of 1:5l.5. Dow broke another record in the high jump with a height of 5 feet 7 in. TENNIS OACH Iohnson's tennis team had a good season. It enjoyed two victories and sustained three defeats in the league meets. The team showed up brilliantly in the practice games winning nine out of the fifteen. In the first league meet, the Belmont netmen de- feated the Bulldogs by a close score of 15-ll. The Marshall contest followed, and the Bulldogs received a terrific set-back being defeated 20-5. The Garfield boys came to life, however, in the next meet and de- feated the strong Franklin squad 14-ll in a very close and exciting meet. The Bulldogs continued their winning streak by whitewashing the Lincoln group 25-0. Only one set was lost by Garfield. The final tussle of the season was against the Roosevelt Rough Riders and Garfield was defeated I6-9. There are many lettermen returning next year and the team should prove to be one of the strongest in the North- ern League. if If fi? :lf :Xi Simple Sarah wants to know if those people North. Bor' ATHLETIC-S Held defeated its traditional enemy, Roosevelt, 54 1, 5- 49 2 3. Ivy Bledsoe, ace hurdler, continued his winning streak by taking both the high and low hurdles. CLASS B TRACK HE Bullpups had a very successful season. They enjoyed a clean sweep with Eve victories in dual meet rating and scored 39 points to take second in the Northern League finals. Bennie Neil broke the Southern California record in the high hurdles with 9.2 and made a new school record in the low hurdles with 13.2. The Lightweights started their dual meets by de- feating a strong Belmont squad 49-46. By capturing six first places the following week they garnered 502 points to Marshall's 442. Continuing their vic- tories by making a clean sweep in seven events, the lightweights completely over-whelmed the Franklin Bees by a score of 87-8. In the next meet, the Bull- pups scored a 502,-44M victory over the Lincoln lightweights. The relay was won by Garfield in the fast time of 1 minute 12.2 seconds. Completing the dual meet season, the Bees defeated the Roosevelt lightweights 49-46, Iames Durand again winning the high and low hurdles in 9.9 and 14.3. Second row: Boyd Mallard tingixf.
