SCHOOL LIFE OCTOBER It mined on Monday, the Hfteenthg it rained on Tuesday, the sixteenth. On Wednesday we had more rain, but on Thursday we got a break-it only drizzled. The B team played Roosevelt on Thursday and tied them 0-0. The Knights were lucky again and missed fifth period. Iunior High crashed the limelight with a short play. Garheld was defeated by Roosevelt on the home Held. Home Room presidents met on Monday, and the Girls' Letter Club gave an assembly. Songs, yells, and presentation of letters were the most im- portant things on the program. Tuesday night the Hi-Y held a rough house at the Hollenbeck gym. No casualties were reported. Two games were played on Thursday. We came out on top in one, and in the middle in the other. I mean the C team won and the B team tied. The Honor So- ciety members gave their annual party and had the usual good time. Garfield's bruiser squad met Belmont's stone crushers on Ingalls field and lost to them. Two new publication staffs were select- ed, an A9 Supplement staff and the Iunior High Log staff. NOVEMBER During the Hrst week of November, thoughts were directed to the Community Chest, and every- one gave all that he possibly could. The day and night of October 31 were filled with strange hap- penings-parties, noises, mysteries, shadows. The honor students were presented in a group in an interesting assembly on November 1. On Monday, November 5, the Cup and Saucer Club met and everyone left happy. A big Kersey Business Club typing contest came next. All par- ticipants quit with sore Fingers. An assembly was held on Friday in commemoration of Armistice Day. It was a great sight to see the Senior A's walking around licking their lollypops with kid- dish delight. On Tuesday, the thirteenth, we were lucky enough to see a teaser of the Senior Play, and after that we could not hurry fast enough to buy our tickets. The matinee was a great success, and on Thursday night all of the proud mothers and fath- ers came to see their young proteges do their best to imitate Clark Gable and Ioan Crawford. The next week was short with school on Mon- day and Tuesday and until noon on Wednesday. Most of the students attended the football carn- ival, and the Thanksgiving vacation had begun.
