V I C T O R JONES, Sergeant, Army Air Corps, who graduated in 1934, was killed in action in North Africa, September 17, 1943. GLEN KROOK, Marines, who was active in track and the Ski Club before he graduated in 1938, was killed in the South Pacific, June 1944. WILL McLEOD, United States Army, who was on the Stamp Club and Honor Society before his graduation in 1943, was killed in action in Italy. WARREN O A K L E Y, Second Lieutenant, United States Army Air Corps, who graduated from Garfield in 1939, was killed on a mission over Europe in 1943. IRWIN R A A T Z, Lieutenant, Army Air Corps, who graduated in 1939, was killed in action December 6, 1944, in flight over Italy. JACK RILEY, Sergeant, Army, a Garfield graduate in 1943, was killed in France, December 2, 1944, before his appointment to West Point was announced. JACK SCHWENSSEN, United States Navy, who graduated from Garfield in 1932, died of iniuries in the Bremerton Naval Hospital, February S, 1942. GLEN TOLLENAAR, U n it e d State Army, who graduated in 1940, was killed in the South Pacific Battle Area. ALEX KAPLAN, Captain, Unit- ed States Army, who graduated from Garfield in 1926 where he was active in debate, was killed on Bataan in 1942. ISAAC LEVY, United States Army Air Corps, who until his graduation in 1938 took part in school productions, was killed in a crash landing in the South Pacific. ROBERT M OO N E Y, United States Navy, who was gradu- ated in 1938, died aboard a life raft after his ship had been tor- pedoed on the high seas. PHILIP PALMER, Pilot, United States Army Air Corps, who graduated from Garfield in 1938, was killed in action on a flight over Germany. RAYMOND RICKLES, P.F.C., Marines, who graduated from Garfield in 1931, was killed in action on Peliliu in the Palua Island invasion. G O R D O N SADICK, United States Navy, who was gradu- ated from Garfield in 1938, died aboard a submarine in the South Pacific in 1943. F R E D STATHAM, Lieutenant U.G.J, who graduated in 1930, died in the Brooklyn Naval Hos- pital on August 25, 1943, after serving in Iceland.
