Although only a few of those who study art in high school ever at- tain famc in this linc of work. yet each one profits hy the course. for he receives an appreciation ancl an unclerstaniling of its basic principles. There have hcen occasions also, where Garfield students have taken high positions in the art worlil. Music HE Music Department provides numer- ous entertainments for the school and other organizations through the orchestra, the hand. the chorus, the nouette. and the glee clubs. Each year the efforts of all are combined to produce a musical comedy. Students may receive their musical training through these mediums, whilc they acquire au unclerstantling of music and a knowl- etlge of the great composers in the general music course.
