In addition to the required four semesters, advanced courses in mathematics are offered for those who are especially in- terested in this subject. General mathematics has recently been added to this group as a certif- icate course. Students in the history depart- ment study the social, political, and economic histories of many nations. They receive an early training in citizenship and or- ganization of government to prepare them for their later life.
