The Main Office Garfield is extremely fortunate in having an office which comes very near to the ideal of smooth and efficient service to students and teach- ers, and cooperation with the school's executives. Miss Hyde and Miss Moody are aided in their work by several stu- dents who take advantage of the opportunity of serving the school and gaining experience in clerical work, All students are recorded in the files, together with accurate information as to their grades, classes, credits, and demerits. Excuses and early dismissals are granted through the office, and a close check is kept on attendance. The school telephone exchange system is a valuable time saver and is operated efficiently from the office switchboard. Another means of communication is through the miniature post office where teachers receive personal mail, and slips and notices referring to school work. Bulletins containing information which must be brought to the students' attention are com- piled daily, and mimeographed copies are sent to the roll rooms. Lists of the absentees are distrib- uted in similar fashion. Money from all school activities is checked in here. Several drawers also serve as a clearing house for lost and found articles. Miss Hyde Truly the office is the nucleus of the school around which all activities revolve. Miss Moody. clerks 24602575166
