,gust s .4105 ' ,i 5 t x Bill Getz and Cheryl Fallen seek the advice of Mrs. Schaeuble in working a problem in Integrated Geometry. 10' i Garfield has a young and enthusiastic faculty. This year they reflected the excitement of the student body in their new school. Most of the teachers are veterans from Hamilton High School and a few gained their experience from iunior high schools around the city. Others came from neighboring communities where they gained secondary experi- ence. The comfortable new faculty lounge and sparkling clean teachers' lunchroom are a real ioy to the staff. There is also a teachers' parking lot to the south of the building for their convenience. The program of study is the same fine one that students enjoyed at Hamilton High with one addition this year, a reading improvement course for college- bound students. SR! Q: '-n.,,M WRESTLING CHAMPS-Kneeling: Bill Farthing. Standing: Ronnie Mooor, Gary Cozad, Bill Gibney, Wesley Renfro, Ronnie Bradbury, Charles Hooks, Herman Willis. The Tennis team this season should be tremendous. With four returning lettermen who were very good last year, Coach Robert Kinch is expecting a good season. The boys' team is always a top contender for district and state honors every year and this year should be the same. The Volleyball Champion Club at Garfield High was a group of senior boys called the Nans, Intra- mural games are held in tournament fashion and the winners of these games are proclaimed champs of G.H.S. Mr. Sharp, gym instructor, is in charge of this activity. VOLLEYBALL CHAMPS - Bruce Gaslrins, Chester Brewer, Dave Connell, Walter Davison, Ted Norris.
