TOU RN EY PLAY Garfield 87-Lakota 65 The Griffins opened play in district tournament play by routing smaller Lakota, 87-65. Garfield 50-Little Miami 29 Although Little Miami stalled the ball, Garfield squashed them, 50-29. Garfield 75- Franklin 53 Garfield looked like a top-contender for the state champions as they overpowered a strong Franklin, 75-53. Garfield 73 -- Princeton 69 The Griffins revenged last year's defeat by downing a highly-touted Princeton team, 73-69. Garfield 59-Middleton 85 By a brilliant display of shooting, the Middies downed the Griffins, 85-59. With this game, they ended the first era in the schooI's history. Although they lost, they managed to go farther than any Hamilton team since 1954 and won the dis- trict runner-up. l54l

This year's Track team has the nucleus of last year's district runner-up and a good season is expected. By running in the halls daily, the squad ought to be in top shape by the start of the season and should be one of the top contenders in this area. Since the team last year captured quite a number of trophies, everyone is hoping that the same will happen again this year. BASEBALL TEAM-Kneeling: Roger Stump, Jim Kaiser, Norman Lacey, Benny Lawson, David Waller, Bill Stone, Dick Flick, Ma! Melnick, Pete Wolfinbarger, Bruce Gaskins, Jerry Nelson. STANDING: Coach Fred Garretson, Billy Caver, David Jackson, Charles Hooks, Bill Goertmiller, Harold Jones, Thomas Howard, Archie Johnson, Clayborne Baker, Corlos Schift, Donald Long, Stuart Stump. The Baseball team of G.H.S. has some very good prospects from last year's team and are expecting a bright season ahead.
