GARFIELD 48 PORTSMOUTH 60 The Griffins went down to defeot ot the honds of the Portsmouth Troions 60-48. The Bdrtonmen were clown only 29-26 ot the holf-time but fell slowly in the lost holf before o hot Troion crew. Although hitting 42 per cent of its shots from the field, the locols made only 4 out of I4 chority tosses. GARFIELD 62 HAMILTON TAFT 47 Gorfield scored its third stroight G. O. L. triumph by downing their cross-town rivols 62-47. The Tigers gove Gorfield o tight fight in the first holf, but in the third session Gorfield outscored Toft 21-6 os Gorfield won the gome in fine style. Ted Norris wos high with I6 points, while sophomore Skip Toylor followed with l3. Lower Right: Skip Taylor U23 leaps high to sink a two-pointer despite Taft's efforts to stop him. GARFIELD 73 HAMILTON TAFT 54 Garfield returned to the victory trail when it downed the winless Tigers 73-54. The Griltins pulled away to a 37-31 half-time lead after a 14-14 score at the first stop, but never lost the lead afterwards. Eugene Wiggins paced the Griftins with 19 points, scoring eight important points in the fourth quarter. Ted Norris 1103 tries hard to make a basket while Fairfield players try to stop him.
