GARFIELD 73 HAMILTON TAFT 54 Garfield returned to the victory trail when it downed the winless Tigers 73-54. The Griltins pulled away to a 37-31 half-time lead after a 14-14 score at the first stop, but never lost the lead afterwards. Eugene Wiggins paced the Griftins with 19 points, scoring eight important points in the fourth quarter. Ted Norris 1103 tries hard to make a basket while Fairfield players try to stop him. Eugene Wiggins C131 and Perry Shazier C215 strive to keep the ball away from the Taft players. i501 -

The Mighty Griffins charge on to the floor. GARFIELD 51 MIDDLETOWN 60 Once again Garfield's Griffin Cagers were taken in by the Middie Magic, 58-51. lt was a nip and tuck battle all the way as neither team led by any large margin until the fourth quarter. ln the final period, as the Middies began to pull away, the Griffins hung on desperately, but couIdn't hang on long behind the steady play of the Middies. Dave Connell was high man with 18 points, but Ted Norris tallied many needed baskets to keep Garfield in range during the fourth quarter. Eugene Wiggins C132 drives in for a two-pointer against Middletown. GARFIELD 61 LIMA 51 The big holidays didn't hurt the Mighty Griffins as they defeated Lima 6161. The Griffins led throughout the game as they led at half-time 36-29. The fourth quarter was a big one as Garfield opened up to win by a com- fortable lead. Again Garfield showed a well-balanced attack, as Dave Con- nell and Ted Norris scored 13 points each, while Stan McCloud and Bruce Gaskins scored 11 each.

The Bdrtonmen were clown only 29-26 ot the holf-time but fell slowly in the lost holf before o hot Troion crew. Although hitting 42 per cent of its shots from the field, the locols made only 4 out of I4 chority tosses. GARFIELD 62 HAMILTON TAFT 47 Gorfield scored its third stroight G. O. L. triumph by downing their cross-town rivols 62-47. The Tigers gove Gorfield o tight fight in the first holf, but in the third session Gorfield outscored Toft 21-6 os Gorfield won the gome in fine style. Ted Norris wos high with I6 points, while sophomore Skip Toylor followed with l3. Lower Right: Skip Taylor U23 leaps high to sink a two-pointer despite Taft's efforts to stop him.
