Russ Campbell gains valuable short-yardage with his bull'style drive in the Kaiser game. Henry Lakes U75 rolls out to pass while Ron Bradbury C331 prepares to cut down the Middletown defense. Q8 Garfield 22 - Kaiser 14 Scoring in every period, the Floriomen downed Kaiser 22-14. Whiteside sparked the Griffin offense as he scored on runs of six, three, and twenty-three yards. Russ Camp- bell tallied once in the fourth quarter for the climax of the scoring. The Griftins showed a great talent for capi- talizing on the enemy's weakness as it improved the young season record to the 3-i mark.

Garfield 40 - Taft 0 Displaying a powerful hard running backfield, the Griffins overwhelmed their crass-town rivals 40-O in their first GOL League game. Scoring 34 points in the first half and 6 in the second half with Campbell scoring four TD's and Whiteside two. Garfield 22 - Portsmouth 6 Playing in a downpour of rain the Griltins won their second straight GOL League game on a fourth quarter rally. The defense was spectacular as they held Portsmouth on three goal line stands. Sopho- more Dave Waller, quarterback, did a remarkable iob as he took over in place of injured Henry Lakes. Garfield O- Springfield 61 Traveling to Springfield to play the state's No. 2 team for the GOL leadership, the Griffins never got started as they were trounced 6l-O, Although the score was' big, it doesn't tell the whole story. Earl Whiteside played his best game of the season as he stood out on both offense and defense. A Middletown ball-carrier is thrown for a loss by Skip Taylor C521 as Kleintank C231, and Conrad C571 are closing fast.
