fn Two new publications recorded the thrills and problems of Gartield's first year. Every- thing from tlies to furniture and space to spirit was covered by the Gazette. Both the Gazette and the ANIM, which is the Gartield yearbook, were named by the student body and-both publications have received fine student support and interest. Members ot the Quill and Scroll honorary society were chosen trorn these two groups. Cooperation has been the keynote for both staffs. Together they sponsored a Mardi Gras dance in March and a spring publica- tions banquet. Enjoying the fried chicken at the Quill and Scroll banquet, are Shirley Davis, Dennis Wittman, John Janco, Archie Johnson, Anita Cohen, Ruth Yeakle, Mrs, Barbara Lakes, and Mr. Carl Tipton. Safety'Council, which is responsible for safety conditions in the building and on the parking lot, checks car permits and supervises fire drills. This year the Honor Society started with six mem- bers, and the Quill and Scroll with a single Senior member. Never before in Hamilton's scholastic his- tory has a club grown so quickly!
