rincipal This issue of the Pioneer Yearbook will have special significance because it is published in the year of the Ohio Sesquicentennial observation when all Ohio is celebrating the achievements of the first one hundred fifty years of existence as a State. The love of state and a knowledge of its history and traditions are a most important part of education in our democracy. Faith, in- spiration, and a sense of security come from an appreciation of our pioneering past. The Garfield Pioneer is very aptly named. Its pages will furnish the history and traditions of a segment of Ohio which are very important in the lives of all who have been privileged to grad- uate from Garfield Heights High School. Reading these pages now and in years to come will in- spire love of state, love of community, a sense of security, and an appreciation of the educational advantages provided by the good citizens of Garfield Heights. CHARLES P. LINDECAMP, Principal. 3
