It was composed of Juniors with but one exception, John Povejsil. Dan Schweigert came out in mid year and helped the squad a lot. Dan was the only letterman on the team and he also took the duties of Captain. The B team lost but one game during the regular season. They met Euclid Shore for the championship, but were defeated in a tough game.

Four lettermen started the year and only two llinished. Garfield's Gridders held undisputed second place in the Eastern Conference, and a victory over Berea in the last game of the year would have given the boys the best record of any team ever coached by Mr. Wilson. Seniors who played their last for Garfield Were: Frank Titus, John Povejsil, Russ Jarmusch, Gabriel Szabo, Dick Hart, and Bob Graber.

Wresqtlang Garfield Heights High School which in the past has been noted for its championship wrestling teams had one this year. The varsity squad of 42-43 composed of six seniors of the graduating class of June 43 was undefeated in all dual meets and therefore undisputed champs. The schedule and scores were: Garfield Opponents 23 . Alumni 17 23 . Hay 21 22 . Univ. 16 32 . Coll. 10 30 . W. R. A. 10 37 . E. Cent. 5 20 . Shaker 16 23 ........ -I. Adams 16 Here are the names ofthe boys on the squad, taking the lightest weight first. They were at, 104, Jim Mika, a senior, 113, john Milkovich, a sophomore, 123, Capt. Nuncio Scebbi, a senior, 129, Bud Vitoj, a seniorg 133, Ted Gult and Jack Grab, both juniors, 139, Tom Crosbie, a sophomoreg 145,-jack Lewis, a senior, 155, Bob Riley, a senior, 165, Gabriel Szabo, a senior, 185, Bill Vorisek, a junior. The most outstanding boy on the team was Nuncio Scebbi, who was a State Champ at 105 lbs. in his sophomore year, runnerup at 115 in his junior year and this year when this was written he had reached the final in the city tournament. He was also captain of this year's team. The boys who qualified for the city finals werezjim Mika, undefeated so far this season at 103, Nuncio Scebbi, also undefeated at 123, Jack Lewis at 145 lbs., Gabriel Szabo at 165, and Bill Vorisek at 185. Much credit is due Coach Bobenmyer and his boys for their Gne record.
