JoDee shook me out of a sound sleep on her way to the shower. I, in turn, woke Lavonne on my way to ring the wake-up bell for the Dorm. Another day at GCHS had begun. As I groped my way over to the school, 1 felt rather than saw Sis Shawver leaning against the rail watching Mr. Wagner raise the flag. Mary Billing hurried in ahead of me to open the office. Skip, Kit, Duane B., John, Shane H. were already goofing-off in the library. Of course, the early birds, Lena, Carol, Pat, Wanda n had been there studying for half an hour. Sandi M., Pete, Rhonda, Chad were staggering around the hall trying to get their eyes open. I watched out the window as the bus pulled up. Todd was making a pass at both Dixie Debbie, while Kirk held Sandi W. off. Dean Charles came rushing in right before the last bell and ran into several Seniors on their way to Eng- lish, discussing how they could bright- en Miss McCarthy's day Since they were having class in the library today, Dale Ann, Wanda I, l t, Ted, Sam, Juanita, Dale relaxed a little more than usual. Later they brought sim- ilar joy to Mr. Mansfield. (Note how eager to learn Brian Shawn look in Math.) I went to science. Mrs. Mans- field almost fainted when she saw Debbie, l tty, Michelle were all 7

actually in school--on the same day! Cindy G. I fated an excuse to go to the office and just happened into the Home Ec. room as we went by. They had made the most lus- cious smelling Mexican food and fenny, Rhonda, Anita, June were at the head of the line, filling their plates. Second period I waited to Home Ec. with Jeanne, but we didn’t cook. We just listened to a lecture by Mrs. Bray and smelled the aroma of Mexican food. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Juanita, Cathy, Ted, Wanda I, several other Govern- ment students got to watch TV next door in Mrs. looker’s room. I really did have to go to the rest room. It was only a little out of the way to peek in at April Lori typing, Chlo in Spanish class, and Fran June in the library. At the end of second period, Kat- rina, Deanna, I took fruit around to sell. Darrell lee G. bought four bananas each. I’ll refrain from making a comment. I think I went to geography 9
