Improvements Aug. 28 . . . Before I went to school today. I'd heard that there had been a lot of changes. There have been, too. The hall was full of stoves, sewing machines, and jillions of boxes. The Home Ec. room was full of boards, sawdust and Joey and Don South. The Gym was full of Home Ec. stu- dents and Mrs. Ostby's indignation. But I'm sure everything will turn out beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, I nearly flipped when I saw the beards that Mr. Ostby and Mr. Martin sprouted during the summer. Not bad, really. There are new drapes up in the library and one whole wall is covered with stuff Mrs. Brusett brought back from Guatamala and Honduras. That 10, 000 mile trip with her sister and their 4 teen-age girls in the old green station wagon was all she talked about all day. Ostby's were also bubbling over with trip lore. They went to a Home Ec. convention in Cali- fornia. Mrs. O bought something in every little shop in San Francisco and Mr. O came home with an ulcer. In typing we heard all about Mr. Hunt's float trip down the Yellowstone. Tony Harbaugh, Tom Viall, Colleen and Lori Saylor and Rene Irish are all full of wild tales about their trips to the World's Fair in Spokane. The P. E. Classes went over to the pool today. That is so neat. I think the pool is the greatest thing that ever happened to Garfield County. I really, really do. I almost forgot. This morning as I was going to school, I met Les Rudolph pulling the new bleachers right down the road. Well, not really pulling right then because one wheel had fallen off. I asked him why he had put wheels on them and he told me that Mr. Rogers wanted him to pull the bleachers back and forth to follow the action of the football games. The Booster Club holds its regular monthly meetings. The work to add support to GCHS activities. They elected Tom Billing as their president and he served them very well. The Booster Club started a new project this year, the booster bus, which went to many away games. They are all pulling together to support us and this is a very great asset to us.
