The Pop Courses are an educational innovation at G.C.H. S. They were held three days, for a total of eighteen hours in the spring and fall quarters. The students received credit each quarter that they attended. The courses were designed by the students, faculty and interested people of the community. Approximately twenty courses were offered with students selecting the area of their interest. The Pop Courses offered a change of pace for students to survey many fields, of vocational and avocational interests. The school was able to bring in experts on a three day basis. Probably most important, experts who live in the community were able to be utilized and become a part of their school system. Pop Courses rewarded students and adults a capsule package of education in a concentrated form. The enthusiasm with which the Pop Courses were accepted by the students and the community insured their continuation and refinement. 12
