Jordan and Rosebud met September 30, 1967 at Jordan with a vigorous playoff. This was also the set date of Gar- field County High School Homecoming. For the first time since 1942 Jordan High School has had a Homecoming Queen. Candidates for this fascinating event were as follows in year order: Nancy Fitzgerald, JoAnn Bur- gess, Kay Rene Mumion, and Linda Hafla. Winning title of Homecoming Queen was Linda Hafla, a senior of G.C.H.S. Madge Burns (Judy Coulter) was Jimmy's sweet- heart. Aunt Ellen Thompson (Terry Schmidt) was Jimmy's housekeeper. Uncle Dan Took (David Witt) was Jimmy's wealthy uncle who came to meet Jimmy's bride. Peg Westfield (Nancy Smith) was Uncle Dan's ward. Mrs. Du- valle Smythe (Janet Guesanburu) and her younger sister Bubbles (Bette Walla) followed Uncle Dan wherever he went. Lady MacBeth (Kay Rene Murnion) mysteriously appears throughout the play to add excitement. McDaniel (Myron Kibler) was an attendant looking for Lady Mac- Beth. The guidance coun- selor, Mr. Warren, (Jim Viall) had been working here for several years. Mr. Plunket, (Stanley Saylor) the Chief Sanitarian, was always teasing his hired help Mrs. Maggs (Teena Billing), and the Principal Miss Entwhistle (Viola Clark.) His helpfulness includes moving Miss Gardener, (Charlene Rich) the new counselor, who had just arrived, into Mr. Warren's office. She tries to help Carol Izzard (Helen Schmidt) and Larry Donley (Mike Harvey) two teenagers with a grudge against the world, much to the distaste of Miss Prather (Lilly Chisolm). The high school students, who enjoyed making fun of the counselors, were Hilda (De- lores Loomis), Mable (Cathy Burgess), Pete (Mike Billing), and George, (Reuben Fogle). Don Donley (Dale Anderson) and Mary Lou Brennon (Linda Hafla) tried to convince Miss Gardener to become Annual Advisor. After the Annual money disappeared, Mrs. Donley (Jean Shawver) came to defend her son Larry who was accused of stealing it. One of its undertakings was to buy the A-squad cheerleaders new uniforms. Also new pom-poms were made to be used by both the A-squad and the B-squad. Again this year it was able to travel to Sacred Heart by bus to support the Mustangs. Many Club members turned out at the tournament to help our cheerleaders win the trophy. SENIOR PROPHECY As I was returning after having received the Nobel Peace Prize for subduing the student riots in Garfield County, I ran into an old classmate, Deanna Frady who had snuck away from her job as dorm matron for a few days. We began to discuss our old classmates and wondered what had become of them since our graduation 10 years ago. Gene Hafla is leading a prohibition campaign. Among his staunch followers are Button Robertson and Robert Guesanburu. Teena Billing doesn't have time for much housework as she holds a lantern while her husband works the night shift on the highway. Cathy Burgess runs the Helm's Flour Mill in Cohagen. Linda Hafla helps her husband, Kenny Rich, herd sheep on the Mosby Flats. Debbie Liebelt, Viola Clark, and Delores Loomis are missionaries trying to civilize the natives of Africa. Gene Hensleigh and Jerry Coulter are bat-boys for the Minnesota Twins. Peggy Huston is an English teacher on the Cheyenne reservation. Heidi Gasser is editor of the Jordan Tribune and has just covered a story on Tom Ryan who pulled the old rob the cash register and leave the State trick. Rueben Fogle, world leading movie star, is starring in the movie The Giant Wart. His leading lady is the new actress, JoAnn Pluhar. Jim Kountz just got fired from his job as auto mechanic when he became more interested in his recipe of vanilla extract, hops and yeast than in motor oil, spark plugs and gasoline. Charlene Rich is starring in the movie Lady Chatterley's Lover. Dean Montgomery and Helen Schmidt have become a dancing team on the Lawrence Welk show, spec- ializing in the Slew Foot Waltz. Jean Shawver is working for the Bayer Aspirin Company. Ronnie Kirby has the largest cattle ranch in Garfield County. Dale Anderson, Richard Rogge, and Mike Harvey play for all the Cohagen dances. They specialize in Square dances and Polkas. Irene Schlenker is hair stylist for all the leading rock-and-roll bands. Mike Billing's book, Mule's Skinner Dictionary , has become a best seller. Delmar Pluhar is the local sanitation Engineer. Lilly Chisholm invented the world's first disposable bed pan. Mitch Nelson runs in the Olympics for exhibition only. Pat Talbot has achieved his life's aim. He has doubled his drinking capacity from two to four cans of pop. Jim Viall is salesman for Clairol hair dye. His sales pitch is Red Heads Are More Exciting. John Corrigan is in Japan teaching the Karate chop to Japanese children. Whether these prophecies will come true or not, we don't know, but we take this opportunity to wish all our classmates the best of luck in the future.
