Class Prophecy Ten years have passed since the class of 61” graduated from GCHS and I guess it's high time to take a few days off from driving the Warm Springs paddy wagon and see where all my old buddies are. Since I’ve chauffeured all of them around one time or another I know pretty well where they are. Stew Griffith is riding the rodeo circuit this year hoping to become Cowboy of the year. His wife, Toots Brown, is striving for the same women's title with him. Margaret Ross and Mary Mahoney are running for President on the Legalized Gambling ticket and the last I heard of them they were flying back to New York to campaign and hear Patty O'Connor and Pat Strandburg sing Little Brown Jug on the Ed Sullivan Show. Clarence Lilienthal and Margie Mumion have become married and are operators of a kangaroo rat farm in New Mexico. Darrell Hensleigh is a Marine Drill instructor at Paris Island and is trying to get Thom Gilfeather through boot camp. Bob Beard and Judi Barclay have become man and wife and have three athletic little boys who promise to be good basketball players. Kevin Winter and Hirth Gagnon have teamed up on Wall Street and now own 51% of every business east of Las Vegas. John FitzGerald and Anita Hinther have teamed up as scientists and are trying to invent a time machine so they can go back to high school again. Jack Shawver and Ed Ady have joined in business and are touring the nation giving tree swinging lessons. Marvin Hafla is now a pilot in a B-52 bomber and Floyd Beacher rides shotgun for him. Pete Spracklin and Nora Lou Ryan are now owners of The Embers and the Roosevelt Grill in New York. Their specialty is a Montana Treasure Steak and Scotch-on-Gibraltors. Ronald Schmidt is coach of the Boston Celtics and Ray Rath is his star center, replacing Bill Russell. Patsy Pfiefer is now a judo trainer for the U.S. Marines. Poor Thom! But should my personal guess on the outcome of my classmates' lives be slightly wrong, even so I wish them good luck and God speed. -Hugh Highland- .S 24
