Class Prophecy Ten years have passed since we fifteen misty-eyed seniors were graduated from G.C.H.S. I decided to take a leave from my job as head of the psychology department in New Brunswick, Canada, and come back to see what all of my classmates had been doing since 1960. I made up my mind not to diagnose any of them because, after going to school with some of them for twelve years, I know that I can't figure them out anyway. The first one I saw as 1 walked into the Rancher's Bar where the reunion was to take place, was Ronald Merwin, who had traded his beard for a mustache and is taming lions in the Barnum and Bailey Circus. He told me his wife, Jessie Boughton, couldn't come because she was busy running the Golden Spur in Las Vegas and trying to forget her hus- band's dangerous occupation. The next person I met was Patsy Ferris who is a woman counselor at the State In- dustrial School. Since she has remained in this part of the country, I asked her to tell me about the ones who couldn't come. Donna Mosby couldn’t make it because she is now married to the vice president of a pineapple factory and is in Hawaii picking pine- apples. The only other person who couldn't make it was John Witt who, so I hear, is strutting around like a king of peacocks and is the chief of the Hamite Cannibal Tribe in North Africa. Donna Schmidt found her joy in life by showing people around in the head of the Statue of Liberty, and Virginia Schlepp, as you probably already know, is holding her head high after winning the Middleweight Boxing Championship last fall. Frank West is the distinguished president of the Bank of America in Seattle, Wash- ington. He is a bachelor; and so is Jerry, The Reverend Jerry Witt, who is living with him. Jay Twitchell is finally a man with his head in the atmosphere. He is a test pilot for the U. S. Air Force. Just as I figured she would do, Evon Schwindt married Dale Bollinger; but she got a little more than she bargained for. She is a very busy woman, changing tires, greas- ing cars, and trying to keep track of her six children who run around in her husband's service station. Earl Thomas is now the famous Strauss Waltz conductor; you have probably heard his program on the radio. It is The Peachy Punkey Popcorn Hour. He finally got tired of being called Dorcas Thomas' cousin, so he married her. She has just published her seventh book, No Lie, I Caught the Green Man. Alice Wallace just came in and asked me to tell her what's wrong with one of her kangaroos. She has shipped about twenty of them from Australia and is trying to show the world that they can too be raised in America. She's pulling on my sleeve and my profession is calling me so I'll have to go. Even if all my classmates don't end up in the occupations I have dreamed up for them, or even if they do, may I take this opportunity to wish all of them a world of luck in the future. - Jackie Hageman
