CLASS PROPHECY The year is 1969; ten years have passed since the Class of '59 walked through the doors of G. C. H. S. for the last time. Curiosity of what has happened to my former classmates made me leave my home in San Antonio, Texas, which I operate on shares with my partner, Yvonne Euell, and head for the foothills of Montana. I arrived in Jordan not long after sunrise three days later and the first person I saw was Joyce Wallace walking to work at the hospital. Joyce is now head supervisor and her assistant advisor and co-partner is Lillian Schlepp. 1 decided to stay and discuss old times with these kids for a while and I found out some interesting facts about the kids I had lost contact with. They all seemed to have made successes of themselves. Shocking! In short this is what I learned: The greatest success of all was that Larry Withee and Roxie Ryan had become united in holy matrimony and now had a family of 12. Charlie Whiteside is earning his second million on the ranch he inherited from his father, and in his employment are Randy Billing and Jim Ady. They are still bachelors, of course. They say Charlie takes siestas while the other boys do all the work. Milton Schlenker and Don Harbaugh are carrying on the brain ability they had in school by being geologists for Shell Oil Co.; seems they already made a sizable sum for Fritz Trumbo by discovering black gold on his ranch north of Jordan. These kids still have their old knack for making money. Harold Brown has gone to Hollywood and is now starring in a new picture called Ladies Prefer Redheads, under the direction of his producer, Clifford Milroy. Doug Nelson and Gerald Schlepp also have risen high on the ladder of success; they are window washers at the U. N. Building. Calvin Weaver has stayed loyal to G. C. H. S. and returned after a college educa- tion to take on the job of Goon Squad coach. I was surprised to find out that Jim Baker has lost a measure of his friends by becoming coach of Sacred Heart. I still think Jim is trying to impress a few of Jordan's tactics on the students of Sacred Heart. Well, that is what the Class of '59 is doing today, and may the rest of their years be happy ones. As for me I must hurry back to Texas; this fresh Montana air just doesn't agree with me after ten years of Texas dust. —Lucine Svenson—

HISTORY In the fall of 1947 sixteen eager children began their education at Garfield County Public School. They were James Baker, Billy Davenport, Billy Clark, Clifford Milroy, Larry Riley, Milton Schlenker, Robert Graham, Jimmy Pangburn, Harold Brown, Patsy Haney, Stella Euell, Irene Saylor, Bonnie McDonald, Yvonne Euell, Joyce Wallace, and Sharon Holmes. Most of us were bashful and a little scared, but soon Mrs. Patterson had us playing games and enjoying ourselves. As the years of grade school went by we lost and gained members until the follow- ing remained when we graduated from the eighth grade: James Ady, James Baker, Harold Brown, Yvonne Euell, Don Harbaugh, Clifford Milroy, Robert Rath, Milton Schlenker, Patricia Tolstedt, Richard Trumbo, Joyce Wallace, Larry Withee, and Irene Saylor. The next fall in 1955 we, along with some country students, started our high school life as Freshmen. After the first week and a half of initiation was over, we settled down to a normal high school life. That year we chose Mr. Singer as our class sponsor. When we were Sophomores we sold Christmas cards because by then we began to realize we would be needing money to put on our Junior Prom. That year our sponsor was Mr. Walker. Then as Juniors, one step higher, we gave our first play, The Little Dog Laughed, this being under the direction of Mrs. Rich. We also gave a prom that year. The theme was Stardust. Mr. Walker was again our sponsor. As we began our final year, the play was the first event of the year that we con- centrated on. This comedy, Room For the Groom consisted of a series of problems ending up with a happy solution. Then it was time for the basketball tournament, music festivals, class night, and, at last, commencement. Of the sixteen that started in the first grade together, only three went to school all twelve years together. They were: Clifford Milroy, Harold Brown, and Yvonne Euell. --Yvonne Euell--

Wl We, the undersigned Senior Class of '59, being of sane minds and memories do hereby declare and publish this as our last will and testament. We will to the teachers a charge account at Foster Drug Store, so they may pur- chase an ample supply of hair rinse to bring back the natural color to the many hairs we have caused to turn gray in our years at G. C. H. S. We will to the Juniors our lack of co-operation among the class members, in hopes they will have better luck carrying on Senior tasks next year than we have had. We will to the Sophomores our constant pace, one step at a time, so they may do as well after they pass the half-way mark as they did before they met it. We will to the Freshmen our determined ways; being well aware of the fact that they will be needed to walk on the path of learning to the road of success. We, as individuals: I, JAMES ADY, will my English grades to Eleanor Kerr in hopes that she can improve them in her remaining years in school. I, JAMES BAKER, will my ability to get along with a superintendent to anybody that wants a little trouble. I, HAROLD BROWN, will my red hair to Phyllis Pluhar so making her hair red will be more economical. I, RANDY BILLING, will my homely looks to anybody who needs them. 1, YVONNE EUELL, will my ability to drive a car all through high school without get- ting picked up to Rob Haley in hopes he'll do better next year. I, DON HARBAUGH, will the 3,240 trips to school that I've made in the last nine years to anyone who likes to travel and never get anywhere. 1, PAUL KOUNTZ, will the misery to go through a Senior year in a half a year to any- one who would like to lazy the other half year. I, CLIFFORD MILROY, will my place in Latin class to anyone who likes to study better than I do. I, DOUGLAS NELSON, will my ability to go with girls to anyone who seems to be hav- ing trouble doing so. 1, ROXIE RYAN, will my ability to go steady all four years of high school to Anita Hinther, who seems to be having difficulties along that line. I, MILTON SCHLENKER, will my record of never smoking a cigarette to Ronnie Mer- win in hopes that he'll keep his own going. 1, GERALD SCHLEPP, will my ability to go through school with incompleted assign- ments to anyone that feels they can get by with it as well as I have. I, LUCINE SVENSON, will my natural curl to Jim Whiteside hoping he'll let his grow out.
