It was getting late so I left the newspaper office and went down to buy some gro- ceries. As I walked in who did I see but Francis Kountz andLaverne Hellyer. They were dressed up in the fanciest western outfits I'd ever seen. It seems that Laverne has taken Gene Autry’s place in the movies but since he can't play the guitar Francis does it for him and from the Cadillac they were driving, I'd say they were a money making team. As I carried my groceries out of the store I ran smack dab into someone and knocked the groceries all over the street. When I started to apologize, I discovered I’d run into Dick Sturtz. He helped me pick up my food and told me that he has the biggest grave digging business in town and is known as Digger Dick. Just before I left town I saw Betty Svenson hurrying down the street. I calledtoher and talked for quite awhile. She's married now and has six daughters and lives down at Hell Creek where her husband works for the government raising earthworms to feed the catfish. I haven't seen anymore of the old gang but I do get letters from some of them now and then. Sarah Boughton wrote me not too long ago that she and her husband, Dale Kreider. are in California picking grapes for a wine factory. She said she's seen Mildred Bozarth who is running a famous Hollywood nightclub called The Prairiedog Hole. I got a letter from Virginia Kicker in the last mail. She's president of the world's largest Lonely Heart's Club and she'd succeeded in findinga husband for Annie Murnion who has been too busy writing that soap opera Pa Perkins , to think of marriage. Speaking of marriage did you know that Rose Hughes and Roger Fellmanare the only two ptople from our class besides you and me who aren't married. Rose wrote me awhile back that she's still trying to catch a millionaire and I guess she's got two on the string. The last I heard about Roger was when he wrote to me to find out if there were any unmarried women around here. He's a traveling salesman and specializes in selling ladies stockings to unmarried women, since they don't have anyone to help them resist his charm. Well I've told you all I can think of about the old gang and besides its time to look at the sheep. Be sure to write and tell me about Africa.
