Black History Month Activities This year ' s B.S.U month be- gan February 1, 1983. To start their activities for the month, the Black Student Union spon- sored a carnival. There were many classes and clubs which participated. The Black Student Union co- sponsored an all-star basketball game which was held February 17, 1983. The teams were Garey, Ganesha, and Pomona falculty against two popular singing groups, The Sylvers and Lakeside. The B.S.U. rally was held February 25, 1983 when the 1983 B.S.U. court was an- nounced. The court was Jenni- fer Scott, Pielani Davis, Darline Lindsay, Renee Blythe, and Fritzi Taylor. The B.S.U. ended their month with their first annual Fashion Show, which was held March 5, 1983, in the Little Theater. That evening Queen Miss Renee Blythe was crowned.
