X Dr. Johnny and Mrs. June Carter Cash have great dedication and a deep abid- ing love for people, but not only for people but for Gardner-Webb College and her aim as a Christian College. In Charlotte on February 14, 1973, Dr. Cash and Mrs. Cash aided not only Gardner-Webb, but also the vi orld in his production of The Gospel Road. The film is on the life and teachings of Christ. It was sponsored as a world premier by Gardner-Webb College. Why did Dr. Cash and Mrs. Cash choose Gardner-Webb as a sponsor? Dr. Cash said, because they have done so much for me, I wanted to do somthing for them. He felt that it was time Gard- ner-Webb was recognized as an out- standing Christian College. Not only did Dr. Johnny Cash and Mrs. June Carter Cash honor Gardner-Webb, but they helped many young men and women who otherwise would not be able to at- tend Gardner-Webb in the next coming years. All the proceedings of the film went to the Gardner-Webb Student Aid Program. Now at this time, we would like to ex- tend to Dr. and Mrs. Cash our warmest and deepest appreciation for their love, dedication to our Lord, and their dedi- cation to Gardner-Webb, Thank You . We want them to know that for all time, Gardner-Webb is their home. 30
