Zhu Www In starting our history we go back four years to August 28, 1948. This was the most exciting moment of thirty -four anxious students beginning their high school life, To guide us through this year was Miss Suydam, our class sponsor. Our first duty was to elect freshman officers who were to lead us through our first year. They were: President. Maurine Taylor, Vice-president, Bill l-Iockinsong Secretary, Jean Sowers, Treasurer, Anita Hansen. We were then informed that we must select two student council members. We chose Karl Lutz and Mary Lou Compasso as these representatives, We were then in- vited as honored guests to the Freshman Initiation Party, 5P0f150Ted bl' the S8I1i0l'S. We had a gay time with parties, games and other such activities, and before we knew it, the first year was gone. As we returned school for our As we returned to school for our sophomore year, we found the absence of Dick Burkhardt, Dorothy Brown, Florence Elam, Warren Elam, Ann Hobbs and Irene Schultz. This year our class was under the sponsorship of Mr. Black. A meeting of all the classes was called to elect the officers of the coming year. This year we chose: President, Karl Lutz, Vice-president, Marlene Aldersong Secretary, Mary Lou Compassog and Treasurer, Marilyn Ulbrich. This year we had no student council. Our sophomore year was busily spent making money. We were kept busy by selling popcorn, pop, and candy for all games. During Easter we gave a play named Easter Shoes. For Christmas we sponsored the all school party. This year soon had passed and the summer vacation was upon us. Looking over the faces of our junior year we find Carol Hansen, John Jensen, Bob Vignocchi, Marlene Alderson, and Maurine Taylor gone. We made an addition of one of our former classmates, Dorothy Brown, and Betty Wren. Dorothy Brown dropped out later in the year. The class officers elected were: President, Tom Perkins: Vice-presi- dent, Marilyn Ulbrichg Secretary, Anita Hanseng and Treasurer, Bette Lou Gaddo. The class was represented in the student council by Karl Lutz, Norman Sauerwein, and Anita Hansen. The sponsors for this year were Mr, Elwood and Mrs, Johnston, This was one of our most successful years with the Junior play coming up first. The name of this was Where's Grandma under the direction of Mrs. Black. The play cast consisted of Anita Hansen, Mary Lou Compasso, Mary Lou Bally, Rita Krull, Lorraine Jewett, Bette Lou Gaddo, Tom Perkins, Karl Lutz, and Richard Holms.

Now, we were really upperclassmen when we received our junior class rings and started flashing those brilliant looking rings around. The peak of the year was reached when the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom was given. With all the decoration and planning the big date finally arrived on April 28, with the theme Hawaiian Harbor. The Banas Brothers was the orchestra chosen to play for this big event. The days following soon flew and we were ready for another vacation. Coming back our last year we were saddened by the absence of Anita Hansen. C1353 officers elected were: President, Marilyn Ulbrichg Vice President, Tom Perkins: Secretary, Bette Lou Gaddog and Treasurer, Karl Lutz. Student Council members elected were: Tom Perkins, Bette Lou Gaddo, Karl Lutz, Marilyn Ulbrich, Richard Holm, Mary Lou Bally, and Norman Sauerwein. Mr. Black and Mr. Wilhelm were our class sponsors for our last year. In our senior year the tables turned and it was our turn to initiate the poor little, helpless freshies. Everyone was scared bu! in the end it turned out to be a lot of fun. This being our last year we had to put out the Annual. First we had to choose the Annual staff who were: Mary Lou Compasso, Elaine Hakey, Mary Lou Bally, Noreen Ferrari, Bette Lou Gaddo, Marilyn Ulbrich, Betty Wren, Rich- ard Wilson, Wanda Reader and Nadine Burklow. After that we all put our heads togeth- er and started to gather the material needed for it. Our next high light was the senior pictures. The senior girls were seen running around with mirrors in one hand and comb in the other, while the boys were itching their neck from their white shirts and tie. After the pictures were taken we sat back to relax and wait for the outcome. We then started to plan for the senior play, under the direction of Miss Fox. On May 3rd, we were honored at the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom given by the juniors. Right after graduation we plan to take a trip. We sold Christmas cards and magazines, had bake sales, skating parties, paper drives and other such activities to raise money for this expense. We plan to go to Washington, D. C. and maybe New York, but this is yet to foresee. At last our goal was reached as our school years together were reviewed Class Day on May 16. We became serious on the night of the 25th for Baccalaureate as the ad- dress was given. We accepted our diplomas on May 28 and had finally closed our school days and reached our goal. ,And Sa Goodbye
