GQJS Jlglsfory In the fall of '52, 25 promising young students entered Gardner High School, and were duly initiated by the senior class, who also treated us to an all school party. The class officers were: President, Bob West, Vice President, Carl Gordong Secretary, Martha Boyd, Treasurer, Barbara Ormsby, We had several class parties. Our class sponsor was Mr. Ralph Wedd. The king and queen candidates for the senior carnival were Bob West and Delores Dye. New students were Lawrence Harrison and Ethel Nelson. Those who left us at the end of our freshman year were Barbara Bell, Darlene Bell, Martha Boyd, and Carroll Dohrn. In our second year, the usual number of good times were had. Our class officers were: President, Carl Gordon, Vice President, Marilyn l-loffineg Secretary, Theresa Van Goethemg Treasurer, Mary Ethel Klamm. We chose for our class sponsor, this year, Mr, Dale Jones, The candidates for carnival king and queen were Carl Gor- don and Marilyn Laquet, Our homecoming candidate was Barbara Ormsby. This year we had a cheerleader chosen from our class, she was Marilyn Hoffine. The sopho- more girls also served at the Junior-Senior Banquet. Our junior year started off with a bang! We proved ourselves good salesmen by selling magazines for the Collier Magazine Campaign, The high salesmen decided to give awards to the class. We also sold pencils with the basketball schedule on the side. That was also the year we were to give the Seniors a prom and banquet, We chose, 'Chapel in the Moonlight for the them of our prom, Our class officers were: President, Mary Ethel Klammg Vice President, Bob West, Secretary, Marilyn Laquet, Treasurer, Georgie Dana, Our class sponsors were Mrs. Thelma Skinner, and Mr. Conrad Bowen. The carnival king and queen candidates were Larry Clark and Barbara Ormsby, and our homecoming candidate was Barbara Ormsby. Again there were cheerleaders chosen from our class: they were: Marilyn Hoffine and Barbara Ormsby. Our junior play titled, 'Leave It to the Girls, went off pretty well, too, All in all, the only thing we didn't like about our junior year, was that we lost two students, Roy Thomas and Sharleen Stewart, but we also gained one, Roxy Crane. In our last year, we initiated the Green Freshies' into GHS and gave them a party on the evening of the same day. We have chosen for our class officers, President, Georgie Danag Vice President, John Velisquezg Secretary, Theresa Van Goethemg Treasurer, Mary Ethel Klammg Class Reporter, Barbara Ormsbyg Sergeant-of-Arms, Bob West. Our class sponsors are Mr. Conrad Bowen and Mr. Edward Gaughan. The homecoming king and queen were Marilyn Hoffine and John Velasquez, and the two cheerleaders chosen from our class were Marilyn Hoffine and Barbara Ormsby, The graduating seniors of '56, are Larry Clark, Charlotte Cloud, Roxanna Crane, Georgie Dana, Dorris Donaldson, Reta Hamilton, Harriet Hicks, Mary Ethel Klamm. Marilyn Hoffine, Marilyn Laquet, Jerry Neal, Ethel Nelson, Barbara Ormsby, Larry Pierce, Gary Rush, Myrna Shreve, Rogene Stemple, Gene Stricker, Theresa Van Goethem, John Velasquez, and Bob West. We only lost two students our senior year, and they were Wayne Murray, and Carl Gordon. We are looking forward to our Senior trip, play, camival, class night, Baccalaureate services, and then finally, Commencement! COMPLIMENTS OF GRIFFIN HARDWARE STORE
