Committee Report The I.S.C.F. organization has as its motto “To know Christ and to make him known”. We believe Chr be relevant in the high school. The Friday noon meetings are open to the whole student body and staff. The pro deals with a variety of topics throughout the year. In the first term, the theme of honesty was dealt with. 0 Churchman”, a satirical film was the opener for this theme. General discussions, panels, buzz sessions and s; ers are types of meetings, as well as socials. This involves the newcomers meeting at the beginning of the e “Carnival Capers” was the opening social, held in October. Literary Committee Report This year, 1968-1969, the literary committee has been involved in quite a few school activities. We started with i literary program in November which featured the school orchestra. The program at the Hallowe’en party was arranged by the Literary Committee. The feature films were our responsibility this year. We presented Third Man ‘ n the Mountain” and Summer Magic”, both Walt Disney productions. The responsibility of School Spirit Week also (hanged hands from an elected committee from Council to our committee. This was held on the second week in March |ind included a pep rally, teacher-student basketball games, and wound up with a literary program. Lastly — 1, on behalf of the committee would like to thank everyone who helped make this year a ur committee. Music Committee Report lr rc t 0 si The music program has been an active one this year. The major event on the Music Committee calendar this ear was the operetta, which was performed on March 6, 7, and 8. We presented Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates [T Penzance”. Before Christmas the orchestra played at one of the literary programs. The Senior Choir sang in the Grace ' hurch on a Sunday morning. They also sang at the Graduation Exercises. The Junior Choir was in charge of iresenting the annual Carol Service. They were assisted at the performance by the Senior Choir and the orchestra, jo The orchestra gave an afternoon concert in Carman on Thursday, February 13. Their students gave a tremendous eception. Events in the planning stages at this time include a Choir Festival in Winkler on April 26 together with Altona p.nd Gretna. The orchestra and choir intend to give a concert at CMBC i n Winnipeg. The Spring Concert is cheduled for May 9. The orchestra plans several concerts since their Easter tour was cancelled. Seven members of the orchestra attended the Brandon Music Workshop which was held on February 21 and 22. Lecognition should also be given to Doug Kuhl and Jim Wiebe. Doug played with the National Youth Orchestra his summer and Jim toured Europe with a band from the Peace Gardens Music Camp. ' As one can see, musically speaking this has been a busy year. There have been more invitations than we could iccept. Most certainly, it has been an enjoyable year for all who participated in the music program. Jim Wiebe Chariman 69
