ED REMPEL Ed, who is six feet, three inches, surely is an asset to the basketball team. He was the goalie on the team that won Intramural Hockey-Soccer Champion¬ ship. Ed ' s marks are exceptionally good. So, as one can see, Ed is sure to be a success in anything he takes on in life. RAY STOBBE Ray is a hard working tarmer ' s son living in the town of Winkler. He Is attending GVCI ' s Grade XII General course. He partakes in all intramural sports and some school sports. Ray played on the 68 69 volleyball team. After school he is planning to go to college. His aim is to become a Phys. Ed instructor. ERVIN ENNS Ervin is a very active lad in class, and is never unhappy. He can make someone feel happy in time of sadness. He enjoys playing football, soccer, and hockey. His future ambition is undecided. HILDA DRIEDGER Hilda is an active girl who takes part in activities such as skating, volleyball, and playing the piano. She enjoys singing in the school and church choir. After graduation, Hilda plans to have a secretarial job and will be successful in whatever she does. DAVID DOELL David is a quiet boy of the Xll-V class. He enjoys math classes, but abhors social studies. His favourite sports are hunting and fishing. You can be sure to find him at the Rifle Club. Dave ' s future is undecided but he is sure to be a great success at whatever he does. ED FEHR They say Ed is a pretty Fehr guy. A swinger from Winkler ' s west end. He indulges in soccer and as a referee at the local hockey rink. Little Ert as he is called, is industrious in school, always having his homework done. A tremendous runner, he came in third in the eight mile cross country race for Southern Manitoba. RICK ENNS Rick, an avid outdoorsman, knows very well how to take care of himself In school His homework is usually done on time. Rick ' s a cheery lad who adds spark to the gloomy Monday mornings. After graduation, Rick will be heading north to the big city in search of a job. These boy-girl relationships 21

SANDRA FUNK Sandra is one of 207 ' s four girls. She keeps herself neat and pretty. She tries to have her homework done every day. She excels in bookkeeping, but dislikes social studies. Her future is undecided. FRED HAMM Freddie is one of the “bad guys” in Xll-V. You’ll find him in the back row in the social studies class “simply’’ absorbing the lesson. He enjoys guidance classes, but seems to dislike bookkeeping and business principles. Fred also eniovs driving his Ford. BRIAN HARDER Brian is well known throughout the school. He en|oys electronics as well as bookkeeping classes. He likes oil kinds of sports such as curling, hockey and floor soccer. His present ambition is to complete Grade XII, but next year he hopes to attend the MIT. RICHARD KLASSEN Richard is the yearbook rep. for the Xll-V class. He is very studious, and receives good marks in his work. He is friendly to everyone. Rick enjoys watching hockey games in his spare time. He also enjoys the weekends by driving his brother’s car. REYNOLD LABUN Reynold is a well-dressed, well-groomed, and handsome young man. His favourite pastimes are watching hockey and football games on television. His marks in school are good. He excels in sports and driving his dad’s car. MANDY LOEWEN Mandy is a girl who wants to go travelling some day. Her present ambition is to complete Grade XII in order to graduate from high school. Her activities include singing in the school choir, going to movies, and watching basketball games. TIM LOEWEN We ' re sorry to say Nothing was said; So needless to say, Naught can be read. LARRY LUPTAK Larry is hoping to complete his Grade XII this year. He is GVCI’s most popular and best basketball player. But due to a sprained ankle and a broken hand, he is, unfortunately, out for the season. He excels in both bookkeeping and English. His future still remains undecided 20

COMMERCIAL 204 MARY FRIESEN Our drama rep. is short and sweet, enjoys sewing, deluxe burgers, reading, fooling around, and of course weekends which she has under “control”?? Her favourite subjects are Business Law and Machines. 12W is not the same without this vivacious strawberry blonde. Her ambition is to travel to Europe and see all the “sites . NETTIE KLASSEN Nettie is attending G.V.C.I. for her last year. She is the Literary Representative for 12W. Her main ambition is to finish high school and then take up a job in the line of secretarial work. Her favourite subjects are Business Law and Typing. SHIRLEY KLASSEN What gives our classroom some spirit? Unquestionably, this must be Shirley, our shapely, blue-eyed, dark-haired librarian with the most genuine smile you can find anywhere. Office Practice, Shorthand, and Typing, are among her favourite subjects. To be chased around a desk in an air-conditioned office by the most handsome boss, is her goal. The most of her weekend is spent with that “special someone. VIOLA LETKEMAN Viola is our red-haired representative to the sports committee. She is also the one who takes care of the concession booth at the local basketball games. She enjoys having literature with a certain teacher downstairs, but her mind wavers and her freckles begin to dance when Business Law is mentioned. Her main ambition at the present time is to have a cheese burger and a milk shake every weekend. IRENE PETERS Being the top student in the Grade XII commercial class, Irene is undoubtedly GVCI ' s most capable secretary. She’d be apt to get more than her share of exercise running around her boss’s desk, too. July will find her in beautiful British Columbia and when she returns in fall, she plans to attend the C.M.B.C. in Winnipeg. EILEEN SAWATSKY We’re sorry to say Nothing was said; So needless to say. Naught can be read. MILDRED DYCK Mildred is our room rep. for Newspaper and Publicity. She is also head of its Typing Committee and attends choir regularly. Among her favourite subjects are Economics and Office Practice which will prepare her for an office job which she hopes to get next year. ANNA DUECK Ann is our yearbook representative and she attends her meetings regularly. Shorthand, Typing, Business Law and Office Practice are her favourite sub¬ jects. Her hobbies are reading and collecting pictures of the different places. Anna ' s future ambition has to do with travelling or a secretarial job. 22
