JOHN PENNER John “Sock it to me! Penner has a natural talent for studying. He must because that ' s all he does. In his remaining hours he pretends he ' s an artist or plays the saxophone. If he has money, he may go for coffee. As one can see John leads a happy normal, stimulating, All-American life. EDWARD PENNER Edward, a dark, handsome lad, sticks to his motto, “There is no wrong way to do right. Comes the weekend, he takes his Vauxhall to task, but is some¬ what biased as to whom he takes along. Ed is an ardent guitarist. He enjoys choir and his singing group, The Reflections. PETER PETKAU Pete is a very studious fellow — when he isn’t working on his troublesome “Dodge . He is deeply philosophical and unsuccessfully tries to convince his friends that he is not interested in girls. He is kept busy with ISCF activities, due to the fact that he is the president of +he club. HENRY PETERS Henry is a hard-working student and is trying to make this his last year in Winkler. He usually has his homework done. He likes math, physics and Portage. He violently dislikes German and homework. His future is as yet undecided. GENERAL 207 BILL LUPTAK Bill is a brilliant, handsome young man. His marks in bookkeeping reveal this. He loves sandwiching guys in hockey-soccer. Most of his spare time is occupied by girls, parties, and driving his Epic. His hobby is growing a moustache. MARTIN PENNER Martin comes to GVCI from the village of Chortitz. He enjoys the work on the farm immensely. Due to his studious attitude, he achieves promising marks. His favourite subjects are math and business principles. His future is undecided, but we can see he is sure to be o great success. MARGE PENNER Marge’s greatest ambition is to finish her Grade XII, and then go out into the world on her own. Her interests lie mainly in weekends and parties. She does well in her classes at school. She dislikes social studies, but is always looking forward to bookkeeping. BRUCE PORTE Bruce is a friendly person who enjoys bookkeeping classes. He is well-known on or off the sports program. He enjoys hockey, floor soccer, baseball and football. His evenings are spent riding around. As yet, his future is undecided. 19

GERALD HILDEBRAND Gerald is a studious fellow who plays an active role in the yearbook committee. He is also a zealous curler. He appreciates studies like math, physics but finds English difficult. During the summer you may see him on his cycle, in his spare time. KEN KEHLER This intelligent young man comes to us from Winkler. He has many interests including driving his 58 Dodge, or spending his Tuesday nights at orchestra. His favourite subjects are geography and chem whereas he detests math. In summer, most of his interests lie in motorcycling at which his exceptional ability is readily seen. PAT KLASSEN Pat is the quiet, responsible type of student a person admires. She has a streak of creativity in her somewhere, because she is quite an artist. Hoping to complete her senior year in one shot, she plans to attend WBI next year. DOUG KUHL This year, being his last at GVCI, Doug is making plans for the future. As of now, these plans include a year of music, after which he will further his education at a university. Activities this year include choir, orchestra, giving violin lessons to “good students and numerous others. His fine attitude makes him well liked by all. JOHN NEUFELD John is back in school after a six year absence. He wants to complete his XII and go on to University where he hopes to attain a B.Sc. He finds school a pleasant change from working for a living and is considering becoming a professional student. However, he doesn’t think either his wife or his creditors would appreciate this. HAROLD PAULS Harold takes an active part in baseball and hockey. His goal is to pass grade twelve. He finds math his best subject. During evenings he is often seen driving a ' 68 Ford LTD. ABE PENNER Abe has been looking forward to finding an exciting career in Grade XII. But having achieved what seemed to be his major ambition, he finds that he has chosen the wrong field . Apparently this is due to the exciting teachers and boring homework. Lately, I have been informed that he is seeking a different occupation, which is not yet decided. iAVID PENNER ave is a friendly guy who comes from Kronsgart. He has no favourite objects in school but is a hard-working student nevertheless. Dave enjoys tra-curricular activities such as singing in the choir and playing his trumpeT i the orchestra. He also enjoys sports such as hockey. 18

SANDRA FUNK Sandra is one of 207 ' s four girls. She keeps herself neat and pretty. She tries to have her homework done every day. She excels in bookkeeping, but dislikes social studies. Her future is undecided. FRED HAMM Freddie is one of the “bad guys” in Xll-V. You’ll find him in the back row in the social studies class “simply’’ absorbing the lesson. He enjoys guidance classes, but seems to dislike bookkeeping and business principles. Fred also eniovs driving his Ford. BRIAN HARDER Brian is well known throughout the school. He en|oys electronics as well as bookkeeping classes. He likes oil kinds of sports such as curling, hockey and floor soccer. His present ambition is to complete Grade XII, but next year he hopes to attend the MIT. RICHARD KLASSEN Richard is the yearbook rep. for the Xll-V class. He is very studious, and receives good marks in his work. He is friendly to everyone. Rick enjoys watching hockey games in his spare time. He also enjoys the weekends by driving his brother’s car. REYNOLD LABUN Reynold is a well-dressed, well-groomed, and handsome young man. His favourite pastimes are watching hockey and football games on television. His marks in school are good. He excels in sports and driving his dad’s car. MANDY LOEWEN Mandy is a girl who wants to go travelling some day. Her present ambition is to complete Grade XII in order to graduate from high school. Her activities include singing in the school choir, going to movies, and watching basketball games. TIM LOEWEN We ' re sorry to say Nothing was said; So needless to say, Naught can be read. LARRY LUPTAK Larry is hoping to complete his Grade XII this year. He is GVCI’s most popular and best basketball player. But due to a sprained ankle and a broken hand, he is, unfortunately, out for the season. He excels in both bookkeeping and English. His future still remains undecided 20
