KATHERINE ELIAS Kathy does a lot of homework. But she still finds time to play piano and accordion and to sing in the church choir. She helps her father in their Blumenfeld store and she may be working there after school. In the distant future — perhaps teaching. MARGARET FROESE Margaret seems to enjoy school. Although she finds Grade XII quite difficult, especially math, she gets good marks. She is always willing to help her fellow students with their homework, since she usually has it done. Her main ambition is to become a nurse. DAN HILDEBRAND Dan is a man with curly hair. Drives a white ice-box called a Corvair. When Thursday, 3:45 p.m. roils around For the curling rink then he is bound. Physics and math he loudly detests But when curling or playing soccer he’s at his best. ANNE KLASSEN Anne hopes to be everybody’s favourite nurse some day. She believes school is best when it’s oul. She prefers library periods of course to any other. She ' s a real sports fan especially when the fellows play. She is fascinated with the idea of travelling back and forth on the school bus every day. HARRY SIEMENS Jolly old Harry rolls up in a Pontiac. He sits in class and dreams of a Cadillac. Recess is his major. Farming his failure. To Reinfeld he gaes To visit Miss Froese. Happily ever after, he’ll live with his laughter. PHYLLIS TRINKE The “quiet kid?” in high school is “Dickie”. She enjoys singing and is sure to be a success in the operetta. She is a very capable convener of the Drama Committee and has her say each Wed. in Student Council. Her main interest in the academic field is chem, and in the future you may just see her in a lab conjuring up some magic formula. She may, however, decide to pursue an acting career instead. MURRAY KROEKER Murray ' s ambition is to drive a fast sports car with a four-speed stick. He gets along fine with the opposite sex. Murray enjoys reading and his favourite author is Hugh Hefner. JOHN OLFERT We’re sorry to say Nothing was said; So needless to say. Naught can be read. 15

BRIAN REMPLE Brian, a loyal citizen of Winkler, likes to read, watch television and attend school. He dislikes poetry, math and turkey dressing. His future Is undecided but he plans to attend university. MENNO WIELER Menno Intends to finish high school which he tries to attain by adding some¬ thing to each class. He’s interested in flying as well as enjoying hunting and fishing. 213 FRANK WIEBE Frank is active in sports like curling. His favourite subject is math. His goal is to pass Grade XII, even though school is sometimes boring to him. Usually during evenings Frank is seen driving a 6 Mercury pick up. LYDIA ZACHARIAS Lydia is very much awake and active with a very busy schedule. Besides school she has a part time job, is secretary of the Newspaper Committee, has a part in the operetta and numerous other things. Knowing all this we do not blame her for complaining about not getting all her homework done. HANK BOSCHMANN Soccer, baseball, volleyball, curling! You might say Hank is a sports fiend. Hank is working towards university. Sports, girls and cars suit his fancy. For reasons that shall not be disclosed, he is well known as “Hank the Tank . BRIAN DERKSEN Brian is friendly and easy to get along with. His future is yet undecided. He likes physics and maths but detests English. His main goal this year is to complete Grade XII. He is active in curling and interested in most sports. Brian also enjoys driving around in his little red bug. DOROTHY SCHMIDT Our smart and cute room rep is always full of ideas. She believes they should be said, and boy, does she know how to say them. Dot excels in English, but chem makes her feel like an electron — negatively charged. She also sings in the choir and on Tuesday night she “toots away on the E flat horn. KATHY DYCK Kathy en|oys the “high excitement and emotions of a swift game of curling. Of course, she does have homework, and this is usually half done. But then, you have to give her credit for getting even that far with the amount of homework she gets. 14

JACK PENNER Jack is a reserved young man in class. He does his homework and usually has an answer when the teacher calls upon him for one. His future plans as of the present are undecided. Jack enjoys the English course, in all its gory glory! KEN PETERS We ' re sorry to say Nothing was said; So needless to say, Naught can be read. 215 BETTY WIEBE Betty is short and sweet — we Imported her from Elm Creek. She thinks Winkler is terrible but plans to make it worse! She forgets to wake up on school days and is forever missing the bus. That ' s because Betty believes in being where the action is and doesn ' t think school is where it’s happening. HAROLD DYCK Harold is our basketball star. He loves soccer or any kind of sport. His pet peeve is getting up in the morning. His interests range from biology to eating. He hopes to become a successful Phys. Ed. teacher. DOREEN REMPEL Doreen comes to us from Plum Coulee. She enjoys reading and skating in winter. She sings in the school choir and in her leisure time she often plays the piano. Her ambition is to complete Grade XII this year and then start nurse ' s training. VERNON SIEMENS Vernon is one of those hard working men who find their days filled to the brim. His participation in three choirs shows he enjoys singing. His interests lie in the areas of engineering, mechanics and in similar fields of technology. His ability and ambition are sure to make him a success. GARRY SPENST Being in Grade XII, Garry has an exceptional habit of getting good marks. He likes chem and physics, but German is in the opposite trend of his likes. Playing the trumpet in the school orchestra, riding his motorcycle during the summer and singing in the choir are his favourite pastimes. GARRY TOEWS He is one of GVCI ' s able representatives sent to Winnipeg to curl this year, and is also trying to squeeze in some hockey for the school hockey team. He is doing well at both, as well as at his schoolwork. His future? Undecided, but possibly engineering. He will be a success, as a matter of course. 16
