ARNOLD HEPPNER Arnold wishes to complete high school this year. He excels in physics and maths. His interests lie in playing the guitar, sports and he enjoys going on a fishing trip now and then. MARTIN H I EBERT Martin is the optimistic type. His hobbies include reading and playing hockey. His favourite subjects are history and literature and he is interested in politics. In class he is always ready and willing to answer any question that might arise. In the future he will probably become a teacher. BRIAN KEILBACK “Klieb” is a handsome, carefree, and popular young man whose future lies in accounting. He loves popular music and playing hockey. He dislikes being restricted, Monday mornings, and long boring classes. NADINE LOEWEN Nadine feels very important as our school president for ' 68-’69. She manages to keep busy by winning scholarships, playing violin, singing in the choir and policing the council meetings. She is “A Good Student”. If you don ' t believe me just ask her. WANDA PELSER Every Wednesday noon, Wanda can be seen frantically taking down minutes during Student Council meetings. However, she still finds time to enjoy her school activities. Being fond of apples”. It is little wonder that they give her “purple haze!” Her friendliness and good marks will certainly be an asset in the teaching career which she plans to enter. RON PENNER Ron’s ambition Is to complete high school in “one shot”. He looks forward to the weekends when he has more time for the things he enjoys. He is very studious in school but believes all the subjects are equally hard. GENE PORTE Gene hails from Plum Coulee. His likes include the three D ' s, driving, drum¬ ming and dames. He also likes hockey. He dislikes homework, cottage cheese, and salmon. His future lies in drafting or architecture. VIOLET PRIES Vi is a profound lover of music! That proof lies in the fact that she has devoted her time to four piano students — all beginning their efforts at fame. Her many activities also include bidding at auction sales for “use your imagination” antiques and representing class 210 at Council meetings. Next year will find Vi showing her devoted attitude to studies in Arts. 13

UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE 210 BARRY DYCK Barry Is a tall blond from Burwalde. His interests are in singing, golfing, brigades and studying (!?!). He holds a position in the literary committee and is also singing in the Operetta. His plans for the future are likely Bible School and then on to farming. JOHN DYCK John is a tall handsome senior of the Xll-X class. He has great ambitions but doesn’t wish to spend his time on school work. He enjoys participating in choir and orchestra. In school his favourite subjects are geography and English and the subject that he dislikes is physics. ROBERT DYCK Bob likes school except for homework and certain subjects. His interests are high in sports like hockey, baseball, and swimming. General math and science, UE biology and geography are his major problems. ERNEST FROESE Ernie is a likeable chap who enjoys bookkeeping and maths. He has also decided on a teaching career for his future. He dislikes the English classes but enjoys the operetta work. His main aim for this year is to complete his Grade XII. PETE FROESE Pete is a very busy man in and out of school. Aside from being convener of the literary committee, he has a major roll in the operetta. Is active in young people’s, and works behind Ihe meat counter on Saturdays. On weekday evenings he is busy studying and on weekend evenings he is busy . . . well, just busy!!! BETTI FRIESEN Her being in the yearbook committee is one of the reasons why the yearbook is what it is. Betti finds that Grade XII leaves a bit to be desired, e.g. Phys. Ed. She finds enjoyment in good music, sports, knitting, weekends, travelling, and plans to further her education in C.AA.B.C. next year. CRAIG WOOD Craig is one of the special students at our collegiate this year. He is well- mannered and believes in being friends with everybody (if possible). Curling, hunting, and girls are on his list of activities. He grooves in the music of today ' s music. Craig is determined to graduate this year, move to Winnipeg, and take a course in medical technology. JUDY GOERTZEN Judy, fun-loving and ambitious is always busy doing something, whether it’s work or “play . Her laughter is disturbing — classes that is! Spending a lot of time as the Social rep, at hockey and basketball games, she still manages to get her school work done well. Judy’s ambitions include travelling and university. 12

BRIAN REMPLE Brian, a loyal citizen of Winkler, likes to read, watch television and attend school. He dislikes poetry, math and turkey dressing. His future Is undecided but he plans to attend university. MENNO WIELER Menno Intends to finish high school which he tries to attain by adding some¬ thing to each class. He’s interested in flying as well as enjoying hunting and fishing. 213 FRANK WIEBE Frank is active in sports like curling. His favourite subject is math. His goal is to pass Grade XII, even though school is sometimes boring to him. Usually during evenings Frank is seen driving a 6 Mercury pick up. LYDIA ZACHARIAS Lydia is very much awake and active with a very busy schedule. Besides school she has a part time job, is secretary of the Newspaper Committee, has a part in the operetta and numerous other things. Knowing all this we do not blame her for complaining about not getting all her homework done. HANK BOSCHMANN Soccer, baseball, volleyball, curling! You might say Hank is a sports fiend. Hank is working towards university. Sports, girls and cars suit his fancy. For reasons that shall not be disclosed, he is well known as “Hank the Tank . BRIAN DERKSEN Brian is friendly and easy to get along with. His future is yet undecided. He likes physics and maths but detests English. His main goal this year is to complete Grade XII. He is active in curling and interested in most sports. Brian also enjoys driving around in his little red bug. DOROTHY SCHMIDT Our smart and cute room rep is always full of ideas. She believes they should be said, and boy, does she know how to say them. Dot excels in English, but chem makes her feel like an electron — negatively charged. She also sings in the choir and on Tuesday night she “toots away on the E flat horn. KATHY DYCK Kathy en|oys the “high excitement and emotions of a swift game of curling. Of course, she does have homework, and this is usually half done. But then, you have to give her credit for getting even that far with the amount of homework she gets. 14
