SCHOOL BOARD Probably few students are aware of the vital role which the School Board has in the operation of our school. These men are Earl D e i b l e r , Monroe Good, Arthur Stubbs, Howard Spotts, and Clayton Good elected from Brecknock Township, James Hay, William Troop, Pe r c y Welle r , Harvey Overly, and Charles Thomas delegated from Caernarvon Township, Eugene Burkholder, John Willwerth, Paul Swei- gart, Parke Dunlap, and Jacob Wise representing Earl Township 5 Ivan Witwer, William Eaby, Menno Eby, Roy Boley, and Theodore Sheaffer selected from East Earl Township, Alan Hunsicker, Albert Best, Dr. Louis Williams, Lester Schreiber, and Roy Hoober elected from New Holland Boro, R. S. Myers, R. D. Bucher, Jr., Roy Fritz, Michael Wenger, and Stanley Eckenroth delegated from Terre Hill Boro. These representatives . are elected by the citizens every other year in November for a six year term, taking office in December. This means that not more than two new men are elected at one time. The duties of this board of men are to establish all school policies and the responsibility of the maintenance and operation of this school. To do this efficiently, three committees are set up within the board. With each member of the board serving on one of them. The Education and Finance Committee is re- sponsible for securing all funds necessary to promote better education and to carry out all operations inthe school. To incur smooth oper- ation of all its duties, this group holds regular monthly meetings. The school building is maintained structurally by the Building and Maintenance Committee which meets only when especially necessary. As the name would imply, the Transportation Committee regulates the passage of students to and from school. They also map the bus routes and stops. K Together these committees work to produce an efficient school system that will enable the students to gain and to use much knowledge.
