SOPHOMORES FIRST SERIESTER OFFICERS William Cadwallader, Robert Brecher. BurIEigh Hunt, Sarah McIntosh, Frances Shearer, Carol Montgomery Although staggered by the defeat handed them by the freshmen on Scrubs, Day, the sopho- mores soon shook themselves clear and came back, with blood in their eyes. They won top honors in one of the bond drives by subscribing over $7,000. The line-ups on B and C athletic teams were sprinkled liberally wth sophomores, and the band had its share of them. Their competitive assembly success, ttThe Mummy,s Touch, was professional in calibre and they also shared the limelight of success Withupperclassmen in the student body play, ttCross My Heart? FRESHMEN FIRST SEMESTER OFFICERS Orville Rez, J. D. Haley, Jim Bolte. Cliffmd Donovan SECOND SEMESTER OFFICERS Wilbur Watson. Donald Mark. Marilyn Garr. Clifford Donovan Contrary to Argonaut tradition, the class of 47 thoroughly squelched the sophomore favorites in the Scrubst Day sack rush and volleyball contests. By so doing they were able to dispense with the customary and very messy scrub initiation. Inspired by their success they quickly settled into the school life. Not content to take a rear seat in the competitive assemblies, they forged ahead and captured first honors with their neatly executed con- ception of the ttSqueaking Doorh mystery air show. In sports, the Freshmen were extremely active. They were in several key positions on B and C track and football teams and they turned out in large num- bers for baseball. If a good start means anything, the class of t47 is destined tottgo places. PAGE 28
