The Natio'nal Athletic Scholarship Society was f d ' ' orme to give high school athletes deeper foundation in sportsmanship, scholarship, and citizenship. By realizing the need for all these requisites, athletes may help both themselves, and their school in the field of sports. To be eligible for this society a bo m t , y us earn a varsity letter in either a major or minor sport. His scholarship must be higher than the general average of the school and h , e must exemplify a high type of sportsmanship and citizenship. The faculty must approve the boy's nomination before he may be admitted to the society.

The International Quill and Scroll is an honor society for superior iournalistic achievement among high school journalists. ln order for students to be eligible for this honor they must have written a minimum of 60 inches of accepted copy or have contributed outstanding work Editorially or in management. They must maintain a minimum 'B' average in all High School subiects and receive the re commendation of the publication's advisor as well as being acceptable to the faculty honorary committee. lts purpose is to create the spirit and incen- tive of high ideals in journalism.
