As school began last fall, Garden City High School had in its halls many new students. This in itself was not unusual, even though one of these students was. Garden City's citizens had been waiting with anticipation to greet this student. In fact, they had helped to bring her to their community by, in the case of Garden City High School students, selling pop bottles, chocolate cakes, and wire hangers to raise money. From her first introduction into her American surroundings, her person- ality has harmonized and blended with, as well as improved, the personalities of those around her. Her sparkling smile and happy ways have enlivened the work, play, and study in which she has participated. She has helped to show that there definitely is a golden cord close binding all mankind. This person is no longer anew student. She is Unni Larssen, our foreign exchange student, who has been able to bind her native Norway to her host country, the United States, by extending hands across the ocean. It is to her that the 1960 Buffalo Staff dedicates this yearbook as a way of saying, We've enjoyed getting to know you, Unnl.
