Hands For Useful Purposes We have all observedthehands of great musicians, surgeons, artists, architects,,sclentlsts, and trades- men at work. We are always amazed atthe remarkable results that they are able to obtainbyuslng their - hands. Why are these individuals able to use their two hands 'in such an outstsndlngltmanner and thus obtain such a high ,degree of proficiency? The answer is simple. Although the hands possessed by these outstanding people are the same as those of all other human beings--four fingers, thumb, and palms--they have developed such fine usage only by years of study, training, and practice. In almost all cases, individ- uals are capable of making excellent and valuable use of their hands, if they are determined and willing to pay the price. Our hands are slmllarto our .other possessions in that they have little value until they are put to good use. Your hands can con- tribute to the welfare of man, but only youcan determine how. 4 .
