Hands For Useful Purposes We have all observedthehands of great musicians, surgeons, artists, architects,,sclentlsts, and trades- men at work. We are always amazed atthe remarkable results that they are able to obtainbyuslng their - hands. Why are these individuals able to use their two hands 'in such an outstsndlngltmanner and thus obtain such a high ,degree of proficiency? The answer is simple. Although the hands possessed by these outstanding people are the same as those of all other human beings--four fingers, thumb, and palms--they have developed such fine usage only by years of study, training, and practice. In almost all cases, individ- uals are capable of making excellent and valuable use of their hands, if they are determined and willing to pay the price.
