Gommencemant One of the highlights of the annual GCHS commencement program is the awarding of honor awards, scholarships and the diplomas. Following are the presentations for 1954: Margaret Litle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Litle, was the valedictorian of the senior class. She also received the award in Dramatios, Athletics, and the American Legion citizenship award, the Danforth Foundation book 'I Dare You' and an award from Readers' Digest Maisie Gaston, daughter of Mr and Mrs Elmo Gaston, was the salutatorian of the 1954 class She received a scholarship to Missouri University, and the Danforth Foundation book, I Dare You Richard Cavanah, son of Mr and Mrs R 0 Cavanah, received the American Legion award, and honorable mention for the Best Citizen award David Helmuth, son of Mrs D R Helnuth, received the scholar ship to Central Missouri State College at Warrensburg. Frank Buerge, son of Mr and Mrs Robert Buerge, won the Best Citizen award Betty Wheeldon, daughter of Mr and Mrs Riley Wheeldon, received honorable mention in Dramatics.
