FDREWORD One hundred years ago, in the spring of 1859. a hardy band of pioneers set out to find gold in the vicinity of Pikes Peak, Colorado. The dauntless spirit of these courageous people finally brought a few of them gold, but more importantly, it brought them to a rich, new land. We of the Class of 1959 like to think that there is a relationship between these earlier '59ers,'-their arduous trek toward treasure, their intrepid spirit and resulting triumphs-and our own class, the 759ers of today. We have worked and studied for three years and now we are about to realize the fruits of the knowledge and character that we have built at Carden City High School. Some of us may find the elusive gold, but all of us are starting out on a trek toward the future and whatever it may bring. 'iv' ' - I 2
