I etball Sweetheart and lfr Denise Jansa and Wayne Hirt, our Football Sweet- heart and Hero for 1977, have really earned this award. The secret balloting was conducted by the Pep Squad and the football players. They put careful th- ought and careful consideration in choosing the candi- dates. After all, choosing a Sweetheart and a Hero is serious business. The two groups wanted two people who represented all the qualities they admired: strength, determination, guts, ability, vigor, and the desire to excel. These are the qualities they felt were needed to best represent the football team of G. C.H. S. 'Denise was cheerleader her jr. year and head cheerleader her Sr. year. She tried her hardest to keep the spirit of the Bearkat team boosted. Wayne showed much desire and was a key player on the fighting Bearkat squd. They have good at- tendance at school activities and try their hardest to encourage the athletes and every- one else to do their best. They show a posi- tive attitude toward school, and school ac- tivities, and are concerned about the per- formance of the teams and individuals. Their enthusiasm is another reason they were chosen Most Spirited. Their enthusiasm gave con- stant support at pep rallies and related school functions. . f ' 17 A. 64 4 .Af Q A fs 'ng' .
