Central Plains Region colleges brought a total of nearly 200 contestants for the elev- enth annual GCCC rodeo. The cow- boys and cowgirls competed for 56,000 in prize money, buckles, and team trophies. One member, Lea Sage, obtained national recognition by ranking third in the nation in barrel racing and fifth in Women's All-Around. Second prize trophy was awarded to hair stylist Rosalyn Funk and model Lianna Bone when four of the Cosmets traveled to Wichita for a styling contest. Under the direction of Mrs. Helen Streetman and Mrs. Natalie Rieman, the Cosmets provided their services to students, faculty and others in the Garden City area.
