The re- quiremenrs fo en+er +he group are a genuine in+eres+ in sporfs and a desire io fur+her +he educa+ion of young men. To do ihis one needs money. The funds needed are acquired by monihly dinners. The money is used for +wo purposes: fha, One, fo improve fhe condifions for a'rhle+ics on 'rhe campus. New uniforms were purchased. Their largesl proiec+, which is under way, is +he compleiion of 'rhe siadium. Two, fhe presenfafion of several aihleiic awards and scholarship is one of 'lhe club's acfiviiies. ' Under the tine leadership ot Mrs. Rothstein, the Mothers' Club had a notable program throughout its tourth year. The president was assisted by Mesdames Bos, Green, and Klausner, as vice-president, secretary, and treasurer, respectively. The positions ot historian and parliamen- tarian were held by Mesdames Rentree and Meir. Among their monthly projects was the improvement ot the photo- graphy department. individual selt-denial banlrs were another project undertalcen by the Mothers' Club members. The Board ot Directors this year included Mesdames ViGario, Noriega, Barnett, Zimmerman, and Summers. 8

Bishop Willinger is appropriating the funds for the construction. It will seat over lOOO persons and is one more step in the enlargement of Garces High. The long-awaited stadium is nearing completion. The middle section, which is already finished, has a seating capacity of 500. Thanks to the hard work of the priests and the parishioners, Garces High School's cafeteria opened shortly after Easter. New and modern stainless steel equipment is used in the building. A
