On Friday we went to the International Live Stockl Show, where the live stock judging contest was held. We also went through the vatious departments where we saw some of the best livestock in the world. One of the exhibits., in the Shorthorn Cattle department was a herd of prize winning shorthorn from! Canada, ovwmed by the Prince of Wales. We also saw many exhibits from Oklahomaiin the swine, cattle and grain departments. T 1 On Sunday we met the remainder of the Oklahoma trip winners and made plans for the coming week. Monday we visited the Field Museum of Natural History which has many relics that date hack as far as 1000 B. C., until the present time. There were many relics from South America, showing the advanced civilization pf the ancient tribes. From there we went to the Art Museum where we saw many valuable paintings and statutes. N A Tuesday we visited the International Grain and Ha Show where we saw some fine exhibits of various kinds of grains. In the Milo' and Kpfir departments the Oklahoma exhibits received first prize. Later We tookla car and visited the Lake Shore Drive and visited the Lincoln Park Zoo and Tropical Gardens. We then took an elevator to the Observation Tower of the Strouse Building in Chicagm On Wednesday we went to the New Chicago Theatre which is one of the fines theatres in the world we also took a tour along Statew Street which IS one of the busiest streets in Chicago Thursday we visited the Chicago Board of Trade where thousands of bushels of wheat are handled daily From there the club members were taken on a special train to the Montgomery Ward and Co Plant where we were taken through th various departments and after a speech by the president of the company we welt given a banquet We then took the tram to the livestock show where the tw: thousand club boys and girls paraded before the President of the Umted States At 10 oclock, Friday morning, the Oklahoma delegation left for home We changed trains at Kansas City Here we were given a special car the remainder of the way home There was much Club spirit shown on the way, we all Joined in songs, yells and speeches We parted at Perry, the rest going to Oklahoma City We arrived in Covington about noon and reached home about 2 P M Saturday Clarence Klngery '4'LN-,1'SX 3 N-J S 4'- 13X'1f - i . . . College where we Vi ' 1 1 an ya practiced judging some of the best livestock in the state it We left on the Santa Fe railroad from Perry about 9:00 o'clock for Kansas 'ii' , 1 C 1 ,N City. Here we were joined by ten other trip winners from other parts of the statc. f, if Ii' We arrived in Kansas City, Tuesday night. The next morning we were taken 4. fi fi, ' to the Long View Stock Farm, near Lee Summit, Missouri. This is a largei farm 'fi of about seventeen hundred acres owned by Mr. Long, President of the Long-Bell 3 1 3 52 2 .E Lumber Co. This is considered to be one of the model farms of America. From if, Lil there we were taken to the Columbia Stock Farm, which raises some of the cham- ' ii, pion Poland China Hogs and Short Horn Cattle in the world. We then returned H '53 to Kansas City and left for Chicago that night. We arrived in Chicago Thanksgiv- ' ing morning and secured roorns in the Y. M. C. A. Hotel. E N' II I II I.
