ADMINISTRATION This is Mr. Ball's first year as principal of Garber. He has had twenty-two years of leaching experience prior to coming to Garber. Mr. Ball attended Western Michigan University where he received his BS MA Degrees and is now working on his specialist degree at Michigan State University. ■ . Mr. Harfst is our assistant principal. He has taught fifteen years, ten of those at Garber. He attended Michigan State University and Central Michigan University where he received a Bachelor of Science and Masters degree. Before becoming assistant princi- pal. Mr. Harfst taught Biology. 2 Mr Middleton Mr Middleton is a Government-Eco- nomics teacher at Garber. He has been teaching at Garber since he graduat- ed from t'MU where he received his BS Degree. In addition to being our Yearbook Adviser. Mr Middleton coaches JV Basketball and is assistant coach for Varsity Basketball. Mr. Skinner has been teaching for 12 years. Of these 12 years; 6 have been spent at Garber. He has also taught at Hemlock, and Marysville schools. He presently teaches American History and World History. He is our head Basketball, cross country and track coach. He attended Lakeview High School, in St. Clair Shores, and at- tended Central Michigan University, where he received his B S. and M.S. in history. Mrs. Maurer M rs. Maurer has taught American Literature at Garber for six years. She received her Bachelors Degree from Western Michigan and her Masters Degree from Michigan State Universi- ty. In her free time. Mrs. Maurer en- joys skiing. Mr Grobbel has been a counselor at Garber since the school opened. Before coming to Garber, he taught at Akron- Fairgrove and Bush Elementary. He is the 7th grade basketball coach at the Junior High. Mr. Grobbel received his BS from CMU and his MA Degree from MSU. Mr. Grobbel 3 This is Mr. Samyn’s first year at Gar- ber. Before coming to Garber, he was a student teacher at Bangor John Glenn. Mr. Samyn’s classes include all the drafting and one woodworking class at Garber and one shop class at the Ju- nior High. Mr. Samyn received his Certificate in Drafting and Design from Della College and a Bachelor of Science Industrial Education from Central Michigan University. Mr. Samyn Mrs. Bird has been our English teacher at Garber for ten years. She is very ac- tive in the Bay City Players and also enjoys skiing and the theatre. Mrs. Bird has attended Mangrove College, University of Michigan. Michigan State University, and Central Michi- gan University where she has received both her Bachelors and Masters De- grees. Mrs. Grobbel Mrs. Grobbel has spent seven of her ten teaching years at Garber. She is currently our Counselor, but has previ- ously taught Physical Education and Special Education. Mrs. Grobbel at- tended Central Michigan University where she received a Bachelor of Sci- ence Degree. She enjoys such extracur- ricular activities as golf, swimming, camping, and skiing. Mr. Flood Mr Flood has spent his eight years of teaching at Garber He teachers Jour- nalism. Sociology. Government, and Psychology. He attended Michigan State University where he received his Bacholor of Aris Degree and his Mas- ters Degree. 4 Mr Bigalke Mr Bigalke has been leaching science, instrumental, and choral music at Garber for nine years. He previously taught at Rudolph. Wisconsin. Among the colleges he attended arc the Uni- versity of Wisconsin. Central Michi- gan University, and Duke University. Mrs. Bisscll has been teaching nine years, six of those at Garber. She pre- viously taught at Bentley Jr. High School. Mrs Bisscll received her Bach- elor of Science Degree at Central Michigan University. She is our Physi- cal Education teacher, but also enjoys coaching the girls' Softball and Track Teams. Mrs. Bissell Mr. Todcy Mr. Todey is a physical education teacher at Uarbcr. He has been teach- ing 12 years and eight of them have been spent at Garber. He previously taught at Peck High School and Ona- way High School. Mr. Todey is our assistant coach for Varsity Football. He attended Northern Michigan Uni- versity where he received his BS and MA Mr. Bellottic has been teaching six years, all of these at Garber. He teach- es all business subjects except Short- hand Mr Bcllottie attended Western Michigan University where he received a Bachelors Degree. He is currently the PEP CLUB Adviser. He is affection- ately known as Marlon by his students. Mr Belloltie 5 Mrs. Irving has been teaching at Gar- ber for five years. She attended the University of Muenster Germany, SVC. Central Michigan where she re- ceived a Bachelor and Masters degree. She teaches English, French and Ger- man. M rs. Irving Mrs. Timm has been leaching English at Garber for ten years. She previously taught in Mt. Morris and Bay City. Mrs. Timm received her education from U of M (BA), and CMU (MA MA+30). She has spent eighteen years in the field of education. Mr. Klein Mr. Klein has been leaching two years at Garber. His classes include wood- working. general metals, and girl's industrial education. Mr. Eanway Eight of Mr. Lanway's eleven leaching years have been spent at Garber. He previously taught at Lake City and Sanford-Meridian. He is the Physical Science teacher at Garber. Mr. Lan- way received his education at Ferris State, Central Michigan University, and Eastern Michigan University. 6 Mr Bibart Mr. Bibart has taught six years at Ciurber. Mr Bibart teaches Bookkeep- ing. Recordkeeping, and Typing. In his free time he is our JV football coach and the Varsity swimming coach. Mr. Bibart attended Michigan State Uni- versity where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree and is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Business Education at Central Michi- gan University. Mr. Rynberg has been teaching for 8 years. He has taught 6 years at Garber. He previously taught at Ml Pleasant Sacred Heart. He teaches Mathemat- ics. As extra-curricular activities he participates in bowling, swimming, piano playing, listening to music, car- pentry and cycling. He attended Grant High School and Central Michigan University where he received his Mas- ters. Mr Rynberg Mr. Frontjes Mr. Frontjes has been leaching for 8 years all of these at Garber. He teaches Biology, Conservation and Functional Science. He attended Hope College, Central Michigan University, Millers- villc State and Camar University He received his B A. and Masters at Uni- versity of North Carolina. Mr. Witte is in sixteenth year of leach- ing. and is in his sixth year at Garber. He previously taught at Coldwater and Edwardsburg High Schools. He teach- es Industrial Education. His extra cur- ricular activity includes being Presi- dent of the Lions Club and adviser of the Industrial Education Club Mr. Witte 7 Mr. Harvey has been teaching twelve years, nine of those at Garber. Previ- ously, he has taught at Traverse City and St. Francis. Mr. Harvey teaches American History and Government. He also participates in Varsity Foot- ball and Jr. High Basketball In the Faculty Play last Spring. Mr. Harvey had a lead part. Mr. Harvey is also known for his “marvelous” jokes! Mr. Harvey Mr Bird has been our Speech and Drama teacher at Garber for the past nine years, lie attended Ba City Jr. College and Michigan State University where he received an Associate Degree. Bachelors Degree, and a Masters De- gree. Mr Bird previously taught at Slandish-Stcrling and Bay City Handy. Mr Birds’ extra-curricular activities include the direction of the Dukes Players. Mr Bird Mr. Rochow Mr. Rochow has taught seven years at Garber as a Geometry and General Math teacher. He attended Central Michigan University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. Mr. Rochow previously taught at Pincon- ning High School. He is also President of the Essexvilie-Hampton Education Association. Miss Ankncy Miss Ankney has been teaching for nineteen years, and has taught twelve of those years in the Essexvillc School System. She previously taught at Alle- gon School. Miss Ankncy teaches vo- cal music at the Jr. and Sr High levels and career development. Her extra- curricular activities include concerts, musicals, the ensemble. The Wendell Jay Scholarship Foundation. Bay Music Foundation, and Career Devel- opment Task Force. She received her Bachelor of Music and Masters degree at Western Michigan University. 8 Mr. Gaffney This is Mr. Gaffney s first year at Garber He teaches instrumental music for students in grades five to twelve. He previously taught at Saginaw St. Stephens Mr Gaffney attended Cen- tral Michigan University, where he received a Bachelor of Musical Educa- tion degree. In his spare time he partic- ipates in musicals and enjoys golf, bas- ketball and fishing. Mrs. Young has been a teacher for six- teen years She previously taught at Southfield High. Marshall Jr High, and Handy High Mrs. Young has been the Librarian at Garber for nine years. The schools she attended were University of Michigan and Wayne State. She has recieved a Bachelor of Science degree. She enjoys bowling and doing things with her children. Mrs. VanOchtcn Mrs. VanOchtcn has been teaching at Garber for two years. Her courses in- clude home economics, family living, and studio crafts In her spare time Mrs. VanOchtcn participates in the Community Schools night program, acts as cheerleading coach, and was in the faculty production. “Charlie's Aunt ” She attended Western Michi- gan University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Vo- cational Certificate. Mr. Campcau has been leaching seven vears at Garber. He attended Michigan Stale University, Flint Jr. College, and Saginaw Valicy College. Mr. Campcau received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Math and Chemis- try. Physics. Math, and Chemistry arc the areas in which he teaches. Mr. Campcau is also the Garber High Golf Coach. Mr. Campcau 9 Mr VanLooy has been teaching 8 years. 7 at Garber He also taught one year at Adrian Jr. High School. Mr. VanLooy teaches English and Social Sciences and participated in the faculty production. Charlie's Aunt. He re- ceived his AA at Delta College, his BA at University of Michigan, and his Masters Degree at Central Michigan. Mr. McCloy has been teaching for twenty two years. Seven of his years have been spent at Garber teaching Math. He previously taught at Akron. Flint Beecher, and Unionvillc. The schools he attended were Central Michigan. University of Michigan, and Oberlin College in Ohio. He has re- ceived a Bachelors Degree and a Mas- ters Degree. Keep up the good work in the old ballpark Mr McCloy! Mr McCloy Mr. VanLooy Mrs. Voclkcr Mrs. Voclkcr has been teaching two years at Garber. Her subjects arc Shorthand. Typing I, Retailing, and Law. She is also the advisor for the pom-pom girls. Mrs. Voclkcr received her BA Degree from Michigan State University. Mr. Hare has been leaching 13 years. 11 of those years have been at Garber. He teaches History. Government. Math, and English Previously, Mr Hare has taught at Saginaw Shoots and at Akron-Fairgrovc. He attended Central Michigan University and Michigan State and received a Masters Degree.
