Breakdancing is a type of dancing that consists of acrobatics, gymnastics, and athletic skills. The moves in breaking are very complicated and dangerous if incorrectly performed. Many people have been injured, but the craze goes on. Even though it is considered a new style of dancing, it started in the streets of New York nearly 10 years ago. Its popularity quickly spread throughout the country. The best groups such as New York City Breakers and Rock Steady Crew are based in New York but there are thousands of groups throughout the country. Some local groups are Dynamic Force and Jam Masters. Many experts believe that breakdancing is not just a passing thing but will be with us for a long time. 24 Student Life
