Student body packs into Gar-Field’s stands for assembly first day at school. Mr. Palmer seemed to be enjoying himself, while busy speak¬ ing at Gar-Field. As September rolls along, the students of Gar-Field High School, find out that school is again the grind and mill that it was last year. With the start of football, girls basketball, and other activities, the excitement of the first few weeks of school dies down and the normal hum-drum of school- life begins. September Begins ’67-’68 School Year Pam Bauckman grins from ear to ear as she poses in front of G-F band.

October Brings Excitement Over Homecoming Gar-Field victors over Woodbridge in decisive game. October begins with excitement, as the student body gets ready for homecoming and all the events that are held during homecoming week. The bonfire, on October 12, was a success as were the girls basketball teams with their victories over Woodbridge Senior High School. Also on this event¬ ful night, G-F’s cross country team and j.v. football team defeated Woodbridge in both events. The parade and game, on October 13 led home¬ room 205 to victory, Maureen Tierney to become queen, and G-F to defeat Nokesville with a score of 75-0. On October 14, Miss Tierney and court reigned over the dance, “Indian Summer”. Bonfire ignites school spirit for the Homecoming game. The float from homeroom 205 takes first place in home¬ coming parade. Chip Lafurney and Shelly Dawson play the leading roles in the three act play THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER.
