KOHLMILLER 1922 - 1963 Dr Elmer F Kohlmiiler. professor and director of the rnedicoi rechnology program, died Novem- ber 26. 1963 OS o result of o cardiac arresr suffered on Friday. November, 16 On behalf of his colleagues and students, the Faculty Section a dedicated m hts memory Dr Kohlmiiler graduated from Samr Andrev s School and Cathedral Prep in 1942 He earned on undergraduate degree in 1947 and a mas ters in bology m 1950. both from Case Western f eserve University After reaching opproximorely two years at Gannon, he completed his doctorate at the Somr Thomas Institute He then returned to Gan- non to continue teaching for twenty-six years and also to worh as the chairman for the de porrment of biology Dr Kohlmiiler served as advisor to the Beta Dero Deta Honorary Biological Froterniry, was active with the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, and a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Science Even though Elmer Kohlmiiler is no longer with us, he has definitely left his mark on the Gannon society He contributed so very much, in so many ways, expanding the biology cur nculum and also in less tangible aspects He actively took interest m the many students with which he hod come in contact Dr Elmer Kohlmiiler was definitely a major asset to Gannon and the biology deportment, always giving his own brand of caring and his special personaliry to all who knew him To say that he would merely be missed by the stu- dents, faculty, administrators, friends, and nu- merous others that he had touched during his lifetime, would be an understatement. His death leaves a vacancy that can never be filled by as giving or as concerned on instructor os he was Requiescot in pace in oefernum. 14
