SOCIAL LIFE C o e had not only defended their trenehcs, but were opening up a second parallel. While some boys still complained and with- drew, others took the initiative and made the very best of the situation. But there still were hardly enough Gannon girls to go around, and most knights were still confined to a week- end social life. Despite the rantings of the Gannon Knight, the lounge con- tinued to draw hordes. The jukebox screamed and pounded while the dancers gyrated. Twist was no longer king and dancing style had degener- ated froyn uniformity to an everyone- to-his-own melee. The bashful or stubborn sweated out a long headache of an evening, while the smooth and fast picked up a quick date and took off for Lark's or Mazza's.
